Have fun in prison you sick savages.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senator Barack Obama
Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt

I thought their use of the phrase "poppy hunting" was kinda funny seeing how I am 99% sure it is actually "papi hunting".

"Papi hunting" has a different meaning you know.I never knew it meant to commit hate crimes.

Unfortunately, crimes like these are on the rise because theives see immigrants as easy targets because they always carry large amounts of cash on them and they very seldom reprt the crimes to the police for fear they will get deported.I have some stories that would make your hair curl. :(

It's true around here, too. As a side note, It hits legal grad students pretty hard. A lot of the Chinese grad students tend to carry a fair amount of cash instead of using the ATM more regularly, and every fall semester, there's a rash of muggings because the thieves guess they're new in town and easy marks.

(The rest of the year the thieves are holding up grad students for about $7, which makes for some entertaining police blotters.)

I just do not understand why they carry large amount of cash on them. When I did staffing 12 years ago,I sent ladies to work at the local prosciutto packing place. They would carry thousands of dollars in their pocketbooks until one girl went on a robbing spree and stole all the money.

I think it's not trusting the banks, or the availability of ATMs. A culture shock sort of thing, definitely.

How much time will they really get, depends if it gets lots of national attention they may go for the max. Problem is, they will fight it for a few years after the inital sentence to get it knocked down for time served. I am surprised this is not a manatory life. This state doesn't sentence to death so that makes a difference, in Texas they would be facing the death pently, and if you have I think it is three witness that saw you commit that murder, you go to the front of the line. Sometimes when I see stuff like that I understand why we have the death pently.
