ok my question is this. i am the american citizen. we hot married june 06, he received conditional greencard Nov 07. can he then file for his citizenship before Nov 2009. i have already reported him to ice, local ins office and the vermont center. my nightmare is terrible, i dont want to go into it now. today is onme of the bad days. all i want to know is how likely will he get his permanent GC without me.

Are you still married? Even if happily married, the earliest he could apply for citizenship would be Nov 2010. He would be required to remove conditions on his two-year green card around Aug 2009. If you are divorced, he doesn't have to wait on the removal of conditions. He can attempt to remove them now.

He can't become a citizen without having his conditions removed. He can apply for citizenship while his LOC is pending, but it needs to be approved at some point before his citizenship is approved.

It just is the question if he can remove conditions successfully by himself if you guys get divorced,
