I was just looking over the I-130 to make sure we'll be prepared to file after our marriage. I have a couple questions...

Section C, question 17 asks List husband/wife and all children of your relative.

Do they want me to list myself since I'll be the wife or is that already assumed?

Same Section, question 21 wants you to list the last address you lived together.

Since we have never lived together is this going to be a bad thing?

Also, I have moved since we filed the I-129F for the K-1 but I never updated my address with USCIS. Will this be a problem since my new address appears on the I-130?

question 17 yes your name is there as your husbands wife.

question 21 I am pretty sure we listed no address there.

No a change of address different to the I-129F you filed will not be an issue

ANSWER: Yes, you need to list yourself with the information that they ask for, like name, place of birth, date of birth, relationship, etc

Same Section, question 21 wants you to list the last address you lived together.

Since we have never lived together is this going to be a bad thing?

ANSWER: You can list the address where you will spend with your husband after your marriage.

Also, I have moved since we filed the I-129F for the K-1 but I never updated my address with USCIS. Will this be a problem since my new address appears on the I-130?

ANSWER: Call the USCIS now and update your address for K-1.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

MissLiss,

Not a bad thing. Probably the majority of I-130 petitions for a spouse are in the same situation. My wife and I never had the opportunity to live together until she got her visa and came to the USA.

simple_male,

Why? That answer doesn't address the question that is asked.

ANSWER: You can list the address where you will spend with your husband after your marriage.

Why? The I-129f petition is moot.

It is not a big deal. But I would keep same information in all processes.

About the last address living together: I thought the marriage has to be consummated. So no matter for how many days, husband-wife were together, it is better to write down that address. Please correct me, if I am wrong.

LOL-perhaps I should put the hotel address where we'll be honeymooning-you think they'll get a kick out of that?? :P

In all seriousness, thanks for the advice. I'm all set on question 17.

The other two I'm seeing varied answers...hopefully a couple more responses will clarify. THANKS!!!!

Yodrak is correct as the I-129F is moot once you marry and file a new petition for a spousal visa. On the form it asks if you have ever filed for this or another person before and this is where the connection will be made with the prior petition. There is no need to update USCIS on a change of address when it will be updated on submition of the new petion.

Heck, considering that it usually takes about a year to get through the process I hope everyone here is consumating like crazy any chance they get, despite if they're married.

To answer your questions, MissLiss, I put myself down as my wife's husband and I also put "none" for our last address lived together (then n/a for the dates). Mine was approved without any issues, except for the huge wait.
