I traveled outside of the US last week with my expired GC and NOA to show that it has been extended for one year. When I reentered, the immigration officer looked at the letter and applied the extension date to the notice date on the letter, instead of the expiration date on my GC. I was surprised; I thought that it was wrong. I guess I just want to confirm that the one-year extension applies to the expiration date on the GC. Otherwise, I'll have to go and make an appointment for a passport stamp pretty quickly...

Thanks for confirming!

It SHOULD extend the GREENCARD by one year - my understanding is that this is from the date of expiry of the Greencard, and not from the date of the letter.

You are right - the NOA says "Your conditional resident status is extended for a period of one year."

That means the greencard date not the NOA date.

Thanks! That's what I thought as well, but I got confused when the POE checked the date on my NOA. I'm reassured now.
