FINALLY! Re-assessment has been completed...on Feb 20???

Whatever, at least I know it's done and I'll Finally be getting my 2007 Tax Refund.

And I just filed my 2008 Taxes to the IRS last night, this morning I got my confirmation that they have it...should get my refund next week.

I'm so glad I only had to do this once this year!

A little update for me....

I had a request to fill out and fax back a residency form back in Januaray 2009 for my 2007 tax return. (The one I filed an appeal for back in June 2008).

The person that was working on my appeal went on maternity leave, so it got shuffled to another guy (Dan). I phoned Dan in February and went over my case. Faxed the documents to him.

I phoned him up again today since I haven't heard any updates. He's approved it and sent it to his boss to be rubber stamped.....His boss is on vacation. LOL

When his boss comes back, the boss will be filling in for two people that are retiring. But Dan said if I don't hear anything by April 15th, that I should phone him up again and see if I can get my appeal moved to the top of his boss's list of things to do. If/when his boss approves it, I should be getting my cheque in the mail sometime in June (the ol' 6-8 weeks after approval to get it).

So the wheels are in motion, albeit slowly. 1 year from time of appeal. 1.5 years from the time of filing my original tax return.

I asked if I would ge getting interest on this but he wasn't sure. Apparently some get interest, some don't. Depends on what kind of tax return or appeal it is. I'm thinking since I'm appealing for the full amount I filed for on my tax return when I sent it off originally that it should get interest. But who knows.

How did Emancipation get her tax return appealed later and fixed before me?

I don't remember the amount of interest they gave me, but I love how it's less than they interest they charged for when they said I 'owed' them money

Seriously? Oh wait. Are you asking if someone's has been completed and refund received or are you telling us that someone has already received theirs? I cannot possibly imagine that anyone's would have been completed so quickly. I'm still waiting on 2007.

I did look for this, but can't seem to find it.... my Dad's accountant just finished my first out of Canada taxes, so now I just need to send them out. But what office do I send them? The sticker that was sent with my tax package is in PEI, I know I don't send it to the usual place right?

You need to send your complete tax return to International Tax Services in Ottawa ON.

OMG! I just filed today, thinking that I would owe...quite a a bit actually... and it turns out, i'm getting money back!!!! and a good chunk too!!!! WOOHOO... it was my first year as 'self employed' so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I had a bunch of deductibles that saved me

Now I can spend that money on my move
