NWA and Delta merge to form world's largest airline

I think Delta is the best airline I've flown on. Never any issues. I've probably been on 10 different delta trips.

All the rest, different story. I think NW is the worst ever!

I agree.

Always left on time, excellent in flight service, baggage never lost, nice staff and they treated my cats wonderfully.

So, now I feel singled out for bad service by Delta. Wonder if I can find some shyster of a lawyer who'd turn that into a profitable law suit.
The sad thing is that you probably could find someone to start a lawsuit for you.

Got a phone number? :P

As I posted this elsewhere as well...US Airways has always been the WORST in my personal experience

Amen. At least United upgraded my seating and gave me a lot of extra miles when I got screwed by them. US Airways told me to kiss the fattest part of their #######. I think I like SAS the best out of all of them though so far. So far...

I don't think any one particular airline is necessarily bad per se. It might just be the flight itself (i.e. the crew, the aircraft, the time, the airport, etc). There are numerous factors that could lead to you having an absolutely horrible flight and overall experience one time and a great one the next.

good point. Some people will have great experiences, some will have ok, and some will have awful. Generally, like all things, people will complian about the best trip and more often that that, the worst ones, myself included.

I just hope they will keep Minneapolis/St. Paul as a hub. It would suck having to fly through Atlanta or Detroit all the time, Atlanta must be the most disorganized, terrible airport out there (well, apart from Charles de Gaulle, of course  )

Actually, Delta is one of the safer airlines. I've always flown with them and had excellent service. :)

Me too.I like Delta so if they plan to raise fares,I just hope they wait a cople of months.

May 7,2007-USCIS received I-129f
July 24,2007-NOA1 was received
April 21,2008-K-1 visa denied.
June 3,2008-waiver filed at US Consalate in Panama
The interview went well, they told him it will take another 6 months for them to adjudicate the waiver
March 3,2009-US Consulate claims they have no record of our December visit, nor Manuel's interview
March 27,2009-Manuel returned to the consulate for another interrogation(because they forgot about December's interview),and they were really rude !
April 3,2009-US Counsalate asks for more court documents that no longer exist !
June 1,2009-Manuel and I go back to the US consalate AGAIN to give them a letter from the court in Colon along with documents I already gave them last year.I was surprised to see they had two thick files for his case !

June 15,2010-They called Manuel in to take his fingerprints again, still no decision on his case!
June 22,2010-WAIVER APPROVED at 5:00pm
July 19,2010-VISA IN MANUELITO'S HAND at 3:15pm!
July 25,2010-Manuelito arrives at 9:35pm at Logan Intn'l Airport,Boston,MA
August 5,2010-FINALLY MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!!
August 23,2010-Filed for AOS at the International Institute of RI $1400!

I don't know about that. Some of the shittiest airports I have seen, in the world, are in the US. Run down and in severe need of upgrades. LAX international has not been upgraded since 1984. I was watching the movie airport the other day from 1975 and noticed Dulles looks pretty much the same as it did back then. 33 years ago..

The only airport I like here is Dallas.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Some airports are getting upgrades while others are not. Both National and Dulles have been getting renovations for the last 2 decades. Dulles is renovating the international which will mean the end of taking the shuttles from one concourse to the international one.

I will never ever defend LAX or most US airports (with many exceptions)

But CDG still sucks

I would highly recommend looking at Sydney, Melbourne's, Hong Kong, Athens, Dubai's airports to see what I mean. They have lots of restaurants, bars, shops etc. The airports are also either newly renovated or brand new. The majority of Dulles has not changed in over 33 years. The terminals are also just as run down. The nicest part of Dulles is the car park. And this is one of the major airports in the US..

Both the airline industry as well as the airports in the US need a serious overhaul. Merge, shutdown etc.. From leaders in the industry they are now almost last in the developed world.

Then again what should I expect when you have senators who are pressing "more serious issues" such as banning people from using their phones on planes.

I'm sure there ar emany other new airports that are wonderful and it would be great if all fo them were renovated. Financially it doesn't always make sense. Still, Dulles opn the oputside might be bland but it is growing.

Dulles History

Regardless, I'm more concerned about people going undercover into airports such as JFK and the like and being able to smuggle in bomb-making materials or not having sufficient air marshals onboard flights departing from or arriving to major metro areas (i.e. NY, DC, LA, Boston, Chicago, etc), then about airports not having the banana republics and good eateries. Maybe if I travelled business class often or personally in general it would be more of a concern.

Infrastructure as a whole is dilapidated in the US. Dulles is just another example. In terms of every day life, military aside, the country has little to show for being a super power. Most other places beat it. So my point is why is there no focus on this. The stuff that actually matters and improves quality of life. The stuff that actually generates jobs and brings in tourists which add billions to an economy. The airports alone deter people from coming.

They cannot afford a train to Dulles yet in Melbourne, AUS they are going to build one 12 mile rail tunnel and another 11 mile tunnel for cars under a city of 3.8 million.

Probably should be more of a focus. Still, I strongly believe that any airport that has flaws in security should be corrected immeadiately. Until the airports and airlines are safe, nothing else should be of concern.

I heard recently that there are still almmost daily fly over infranctions in no fly zones over DC. Lax security checks at airports and air marshals on less than 4% of flights is pretty scary. Hopefully it won't have to be included in another post-9/11 related attack report.
