Well I am back in Essex after my interview this morning in London.

I cant believe how painfree it was.

We (hubby and me) got there well early at 8:30am-ish and after a little wait we were let into the embassy where I was given the number 006 and told to take a seat and wait.

After a wait of about 10 mins I was called to window number 1 and a really nice woman (who I couldnt understand) took the pics and visa payment slips and although she was asking for other stuff I didnt know what she was saying so I just handed stuff over in the order that I thought she wanted.

She then gave me the courier slip and told us to sit back down.

No sooner had I sat down when I was called back to window 1 as she had forgoten to give me my xray (that had been sent over to the embassy from the Doctors in Knightsbridge).

Anyway we sat back down and after 10 mins or so we were called to window 13 where some right nice friendly american bloke was waiting for us.

He asked a couple of questions like "Did I enter the US on the VWP" to which I said yes, he asked where in US we would be living I told him NY and he asked my husband what he did for a living my husband replied that he was a farmer and the bloke then asked me what I thought about farming (I replied that there were cows there and that seemed to appease him haha).

He then looked over Jac's permssion to leave document and then said "well everything looks good here we can go ahead and issue the approval"

I was a bit gutted I got no "welcome to America" so I asked him if he could say it to me so he said that I was jumping ahead of him as he still had to tell me about the POE etc but then after that he said them words "WELCOME TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA"

SO I walked out with a big s*** eating grin on me face paid the courier fee and hurried home so I could take off me shoes that had been killing me.

SO now to the packing up and booking flights etc.

I would like to thank all those that have helped me so much these past few months

I forgot to add that while we were there a couple of numbers were called out and noone went to the windows so I say either watch the screen or listen out real good for your number.

Excellent news, Donna! The build-up to the interview seems to be the worst thing, whereas the actual interview is really quite easy. ... Enjoy your last few days as a full-time Essex resident, and good luck with the move to NY! ...
