My fiance is trying to complete this form because she has her interview soon! Her questions are

36. Has Anyone Ever Filed an Immigrant Visa Petition on Your Behalf?

Yes No If Yes, Who?

Should she out my name there? The fiance Visa is a non immigrant visa right?

32. Do You Intend To Work in The U.S.? Yes No

(If YES, give the name and complete address of U.S. employer.)

33. Do You Intend To Study in The U.S.? Yes No

(If YES, give the name and complete address of the school.)

She will work an study but she does not know where?

26. How Long Do You Intend To Stay in The U.S.?

The answer seems obvious shoul she just right forever?

25. Name and Telephone Numbers of Person in U.S. Who You Will Be Staying With or Visiting for Tourism or Business

Name

Home Phone

Business Phone

Cell Phone

So people fill this out for a tourist visa too? Shoul she right own my name and phone number again?

Thanks guys the answers are probably simple but want to make sure everything is right

36. Fiancee visa is an Immigrant visa. She should list your name there.

Answer no on 32 and 33. Those questions are posed for people seeking student visas and work visas. She is not comming to the US for school or for a job, she is comming to marry you. Answering no to those questions does not mean she cant work or go to school.

26. Permanently.

25. Yes, put your info in there.

This is a form that people fill out who are seeking a visa to the US. Any visa, not just the K1, so there is some stuff in there that does not apply to all situations.

The K-1 Fiance(e) visa is a nonimmigrant visa (see http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/ty...ypes_2994.html). The DS 156 is a "Nonimmigrant Visa Application". And I believe that question 36 on the DS 156 is referring to any previous petitions that may have been filed.

Just my opinion......

So for qustion 36 should I write yes or no? Its a nonimmigrant visa so i assume the answer is no? Or should i right yes and fill in my name? Also questions that are not applicable like for instance the spouse question should I leave it black or fill in something like not applicable?

Question 36 can be taken both ways. By definition the K-1 is a Non-immigrant visa. But the Embassy considers it an immigrant visa per their own site U.S. Embassy Moscow Immigrant Visas Menu. As I believe they are speaking of past petitions (as Don pointed out), I consider the answer is "No" for 36.

One more question on DS156: :help:

I would like to fill the form electronically for my Masha and send to her its copy along with the other paperwork needed. How long in advance can somebody fill the DS156 form? Does one need the NOA2 or some other documentation?

As always, thank you for the advise  ... Javier

As early as you want, as long as the information doesnt change. I dont remember anything on the form being time sensitive.

It is certainly non-immigrant.

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/ty...types_2994.html

Reason: you pay only $131 for it rather than the full blown $375.
