they eat hamburgers with a fried egg on top in brazil and israel (at least places i saw)

its sooooo good!

bridget: from my experience with my husband... give him time. my husband HATED so many things he tried when he first got here. over time he became more open-minded and loved things he claimed were gross. :)

i never saw a hamburger with an egg on it in israel! although i will say i dont really eat hamburgers here either!

it's yummy with boca, if that's more to your liking :)

that sounds a little better... i just cant imagine egg on top of hamburger it seems like it would make me so unbelievably full from protein overload. i eat egg with veggie sausage all of the time so i could see it being good on a boca burger.

Good Morning Burger (from The Simpsons):

"We take eighteen ounces of sizzling ground beef, and soak it in rich, creamery butter, then we top it off with bacon, ham, and a fried egg. We call it the Good Morning Burger."

Which veggie sausage do you use? I use the Lightlife Gimme Lean in this lentil and vegetable cassarole I make because it adds just the right ammount of spice.

None of my posts have ever been helpful. Be forewarned.

i like yves. my favorite breakfast sandwich is an ezekiel english muffin with an egg (that i put in one of those molds so it comes out like an egg mc muffin egg), yves sausage and soy butter on the muffin.

Brig, mine still hates pretty much everything we think is normal here. Give him time and he should relax on the food issue..its really hard for them to adjust to our grub (or at least for mine its been a massive MASSIVE struggle). I had to COMPLETELY change the way we eat. He begs to differ on that coz he says..its all bot in america so its "ur" food. I told him..before u got here, we rarely ate vegetables AT ALL and didn't eat much meat OR bread. Almost every meal now has been altered to suit his tastes. *sigh*.. it has been hard but I think I figured out how to feed the man (after 2.5 years) good luck!

Actually he's pretty easy and he would have eaten the slice if I had forced the issue. I"m lucky I guess. The only thing he didn't like was the meatball soup I made but to be honest I didn't like it either. It was a new recipe and I probably shouldn't have sprung an untested meal on him to start with. lol.

He loved my scrambled eggs with the allouette cheese, loved the baby lamb chops with the mint pesto, absolutely loves any salad that I make, liked the spaghetti and meatballs but would prefer twirly pastas instead................all in all he likes everything so far except for that soup.

Oh and LOVES Pillsbury cinnabon pastry twirl things. Had me buy 5 cans of it!!! LOL

You guys are making me hungry  but that does give me an idea for dinner tonight

I'm thinking rice cooked with peas and carrots (his favorite) and some fried egg and meatballs on top - almost like like a chinese meatball and fried rice :P

When I've made it I just drop the eggs in to poach rather than frying them. I can't remember how it was done in Morocco.

Hey everyone! We've have been cleaning out the pharmacy I work at non stop these past 3 days, alhamdulillah it's over today. Now Walgreens will start taking over and making it their store, and after giving us (the former employees) training (don't know when it begins, but I'm going to start off on the wrong foot with them, cause i'm going to ask for days off  next week insha Allah) we'll be working there again after they fix it up.

I'm dead tired, but still have to clean MY HOUSE!!!!! There are still places in this house that needs to be cleaned, so I'll get cracking at that once my body gives me the thumbs up :D

It's good to see everyone, especially Bridget wooohoooo! And of course Aj1's post was really great to see, I'm so optimistic that everything will go great with her insha Allah.

I hope everyone has a great week !

Hugs,

Ayesha (F)

LOL after freaking out and cleaning the night before he got here my house is now a mess!!!! Well not really but my bedroom looks like a cyclone hit it since he can't seem to find a place for all his stuff.

Also..............what's the deal with the flip flops on all day long inside? My kitchen floor was so clean you could eat off of it and now there's dirt tracks everywhere from his shoes! I ran after him with a broom last night.:lol: He goes outside on the side porch to smoke but it's all dusty and dirt out there and then comes in. :bonk::bonk::bonk:

i don't know about all MENA countries but in morocco you absolutely MUST wear sandals or slippers in the house. if i tried to walk around barefoot his mom (or someone) would chase me with slippers and make me put them on!
