Hi I wanted to make a quick video using my brother's camcorder. He said it uses Hi8 video tapes but my video will only be accepted if its in VHS, DVD or MINI DV format. :( Is there a way to record on Hi8 tapes and convert them to one of the three listed?

Yes, but you may need equiptment that you dont have.

Basically you have to play the Hi8 tape and record it with another device. The camera itself may work as the player. You would connect the cables from the outputs to inputs on the VHS recorder or other recording device.

Do you have a DVD burner on your computer? If so, export the video to your computer and convert it to DVD using Nero.

Do you have a DVD burner on your computer? If so, export the video to your computer and convert it to DVD using Nero.

Hi8 is analog, unless you first convert it to digital with a video input card, that wont work.
