Someone posted this question in the general forum and the responses he got made wonder if I will have enough proof of an ongoing relationship with my g/f

Fely and I met on January 30th of this year through filipinaheart.com and I will be visiting her next month May 15, 2008 and I will be there with her for 10 days.

We have chatted at least once a day and sometimes twice a day averaging 2 or more hours each time we chat.

We have many emails

We only use the yahoo phone which is free and it records the date, time, and duration of the call but we haven't used a land line or cell phone yet to communicate. will this be a problem?

she has only sent me a postcard from the philipinnes and I am sending her a hand written letter today. We chat and email so much we just haven't sent letters.

We will be taking a lot of photos during our time together so i will have those as well. From what I have stated here does it seem like we will have a problem with proving a true relationship?

Was much like myself and my wife.

I printed out skype, and yahoo logs, some sample chats, and email log and some sample emails spread out over the time of filing the I-129F and the interview. We never used landlines to call each other, just Skype.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

The chat logs and e-mails are good evidence for a relationship. Just be sure to take a lot of photos of the two of you together in a variety of places. Photos of palm trees and jeepneys alone aren't good enough. If you don't have a digital camera, get one. I got one for my financee at Christmas so we had more photos than we needed and she occasionally sends me some new photos.

The reality is the folks who look at the proof of relationship don't have the time to read hundreds of pages of conversations and e-mails so you don't have to submit all the document you acquire should you both choose to get married and obtain a visa.

Try to have her write you more letters or even send a cheap card, maybe one or two a month? And you can do the same. The post mark on the envelope is great evidence !

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I'd suggest making sure to continue having the same amount of chats and emails etc. after the process has begun.

What you have so far will prove an on-going relationship. When you go over there to visit her, make sure to take tons and tons of pictures (the two of you, with her family and friends, in different places etc). After that, write letters using snail mail more often. I sent my then fiance (now husband) letters every week besides daily email (3-5 letters each day). You will have enough time to build up more evidences of relationship and you will have to keep on saving them until her interview date.

Good luck!

my fiancee sends regular monthly remittances to my bank account here in PI. plus regular text & phone calls, and saves copies of bills with ph # highlighted. And every now & then we send each other DHL or FEDEX docs, and saves the envelopes with the dates and tracking #s.

Check out Section 4.3 of the Manila Embassy K1 Visa Guide. Particularly the link in the last sentence of "filling out the form" within Section 4.3. That may give you some ideas on things to include.

Yes, I did. When we haven't met yet, I sent him 2-3 emails (online greetings, poems and regular letter with my day to day life). After his first visit, I started sending him 3-5 letters a day, (in the morning to greet him goodnight, online cards, poems/love songs, regular letter with my day to day life and before I go home to greet him good morning). Oh he loved it but later on, started complaining that he's spending more money on ink cartridges because he was printing every single email I sent him. From the time we started writing until I got here in US, he had saved 3ft. thick printed letters from me. Aside from that, I sent him 2 cards thru snail mail every week and luckily, he got them weekly too. No miss. (Our snail letters accumulated to one cardboard box.) We also talk on the phone every morning (in PI time) using call cards and collected them as part of evidence even though there's no way you can pull up call records using them. (We thought we could still use them. When we counted all our used cards, the money we both spent was enough to pay for his 2 mos. mortgage. :D No wonder we're almost broke after we got married. JUST KIDDING!

The more evidences you got, the better...
