You don't have to have permission. You just complete all the required documents. Why don't you pursue a K-1?

You do need a permit to be married in Mexico if you are a US citizen marrying a Mexican citizen. On the link scy posted, it even states so "you must also request from Mexican Immigration a marriage permit." For us the marriage permit took a little over 2 weeks but I was told to plan on it taking 4 weeks. What I'd suggest doing if time is short is getting all of the footwork done your first day in Mexico (getting pictures taken, blood tests, etc.) and turning it in as soon as possible. I got to Mexico on a Saturday, did all the extra stuff, and the lawyer we'd hired filed the paperwork first thing the following Monday morning. Looking back now, I may not have hired a Mexican immigration lawyer to do this, as the paperwork isn't that difficult but I don't know if maybe it helped get it through sooner since the Immigration officers already knew him.

Jeremiah 29:11-13 "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for wholeness and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart"

We were married in Queretaro, and I'm not sure what to suggest at this point beyond suggesting you explain your short timeline when filing the permit paperwork at Immigration and ask if there is anything they can do for you. Sorry to not have better ideas.

Where does it say that? The I-601 asks for a relative, not a spouse. Others have filed I-601 for K-1.

Good luck to you then. You know that if you get married, your K-1 is voided and you will start again with a K-3 or CR-1.
