question about Affidavit of support

i have been working in US for only a year i.e. i have only last year's tax return with me. my income falls above the poverty line.

i am confused about providing affidavit of support when i have to.

if i have a job letter showing that i have a job and my income is so much, would that be enough of an evidence along with one year's tax return to show that i can support my husband ?

Yes you will be fine showing last year's IRS return, and employer letter. I would also attach some copies of recent pay-stubs too.

The I-864 will be needed when NVC sends you a letter requesting it.

Yes, you should be ok with last year income tax, and letter from the employer showing your current income. It also depends how much above the poverty line you're when you don't have evidence from last 3 years. If you are 3 times above poverty line, you should have no problem at all.

You just need last year's return and evidence of employment(letter from employer).

other information like second last and third last year returns are not mandatory.

The I-130 asks for any or all of the following, as appropriate.

A: Statement of bank account opened, last year deposits, and present balance.

or

B: Letter from employer with date and nature of work, salary and status.

or

C: IF YOU ARE SELF-EMPLOYED, provide last year income tax

or

D: List of serial numbers and denonominations of bonds in owners name.

Perhaps I'm wrong but if you are not self-employed, NO income tax is needed for I-130. When you adjust status on 864 that's a different story.
