I just moved here a little more than 4 months ago but the countdown is already on for when we do DFC to move back to the states together after I become a British Citizen.

I guess it will be a little bit after I become a citizen since I'm sure that's going to cost us an arm and a leg in 3 years

Life long Texan, living in Hull, UK. How did this happen?

11 January - We met online and became friends

4 February - Became a couple

17 March - I went to Hull to meet the guy

20 March - First "I love you"

25 March - I go home :(

16 November - He comes to visit me in Texas

25 November - he leaves back home :(

14 December - ENGAGED! <3

1 March- I fly off to see my babe in Hull

4 April - I go home :(

9 October - He comes back to Texas!!!!

13 October - WEDDING!!!

22 October - He goes back to England and I continue to wait for my settlement visa.

13 December 2007 - Move to England

Now the wait begins, I will become a citizen then we will DFC back to the US.

You know what really bugs me most, is there seems to be no consistency with the embassy. Some get RFE's for affidavits, some don't. We have been married for over two years, I have lived in the UK over two years. I sent a copy of both my visa's (my first FLR and my second FLR) showing dates I have entered the UK. You would think between that and copies of bank statements, council tax bills and our rental agreement that is all the evidence they need! They returned all the bills/statements btw! If I get an RFE for affidavits I will scream!

Yes i agree and ive been curious to see if you will get an RFE for that or not having seen alot of people get theres sent back, Although when they RFE'd me for the Time i had lived in the UK they had stapled all of my affidavits together with the I-130 G-325a's saying they wanted it all back and then i got all of the stuff back after they billed me so i reckon they scanned the lot.

I'm just wondering, you all filed in the UK right? I noticed you did the medical and police report requests after filing the I-130 form, is that usual? I'm not married yet. My fiance and I want to marry in the USA and file there afterwards. Can he get the medical and police reports before we get married and before we fill out the I-130? Or does he have to wait until we marry and file the I-130? Please respond asap...we plan on him moving here in August and we marry then fill out the report. I've gotten no data on it from my embassy or consulate and have read the threads and the guides but am not sure still of the order of the steps. Can you fill me in on these questions above? Thank you all so much!

oh dear... please read the guides again. You cannot knowingly move to the US intending to marry and file for your spouse legally. Where do you live? If you both live in the UK then you can marry in the US, but you will have to return to the UK to petition your then husband, and he will have to wait in the UK till it's issued. Alternately if you are in the US and he is in the UK, then you do not file a I-130 and instead a I-129F which means that your a petitioning him as your fiance. He can come to the US and then you guys can marry.

You should go back to the 'Home' page of this website, and where it says 'new members click here' click there. By going that way, it's much easier to navigate through all the info in the guides because you get the info in the right order :star:

That's good news, since I was in the same boat as you...credit card charged, but no email.

How did you get through to them via email? Did you have to call to get that code thingie? What email did you use?

Just out of curiosity, what day was your credit card charged? I'm trying to figure out my process date!

My credit car was charged on the 27th... so that date would be your process date.

I just emailed them at... USCIS.London@dhs.gov

I got a reply back saying it was deleted but then later got an email with an attachment with the date. They said that they do not always give an NOA1.

The crazy thing is that I don't know whether to believe that timeline page cause then i would not be hearing anything til September... but if you check their site they are still on Feb.

I'll bet you'll be approved within days of sending back your RFE, that's certainly the pattern this year.

If you get it in the post by Monday, I would bet you'll have your approval by the following Monday :star:
