Travelling During K-1 Process

My fiancee and I are applying this week for the K-1, and I am hoping to be there finally in Feb of 2009. But we are also hoping to see eachother in November too, as it's a long time in between.

I was just wondering two things:

1.) If I travel during the K-1 process, is it likely they'll allow me entry if I can prove I have a job to go back to, have a return ticket, etc.? Are there any other ways I can prove I am not an intending immigrant?

2.) Once the K-1 is approved, I am allowed one flight into the US to immigrate. Does this have to be the FIRST flight I make? For example, IF I am approved in early November and given my visa, do I have to use it if I travel late November, or can I save it for the second flight there in February?

Any help on this will be most appreciated as it will possibly save me hundreds of £ and much disruption to our plans!

If you travel during your k1 it is best to provide proof of ties to your home country, take a look at this link http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k1visit

With regard to using your K1 visa later I am not sure about this as the visa will be in your passport, maybe someone else can assist with this answer.

Queck with your embassy. It might be possible to get the visa issued later, even you are approved. So you can go for your visit in November and when you come back you go get your visa.

Sib

Generally they put the visa in your passport - you have to submit your passport at the interview time - so there is no picking it up later, all you can do is delay the interview (or reschedule) it - then you have to ask yourself if its worth that or not. Good Luck
