Hello all. Just want to know what people from the UK has filed from the Vermont Centre this year and how quick they feel its going. Ive been looking at threads and seeing quite a few people are getting there interview within 3 months. Also the NVC is sending the documents to the Embassy. My NVC will be Charleston SC. I dont know if thats a slow one or a fast one. Just want some sort of feedback as i my fiance will be filing at the end of this months.

Thanks all

If you asked me, I think the whole process is too slow (but, then again, I wanted Darren here months ago ;) )...

But if you asked Darren, he thinks the process has been supersonic...we filed at the end of January and his interview is on the 25th (12 days away)...which means we have gone through all of it in less than 3 months!

We were expecting this to take much longer, and now we're both panicking about money for AoS, the summer (I'm a teacher, and my county is cutting summer school this year...loss of much-needed income for us), his apprehension about finding a job, cost of a wedding not to mention a honeymoon....

He is much more realistic about the money thing; I'm much more a "happily ever after, money be damned" kind of girl. But I'm sure everything will work out for the best...

Vermont is a strange service center... They don't seem to go in any type of order time-wise or area-wise (where the beneficiary is from). But they are the faster of the two K-1 centers, so be thankful...you'd be waiting at least 3 months longer for your NOA2...

Good luck with putting your packet together...just follow the guidelines and you'll do fine!

The NVC is the same for everyone and it's in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

So theres no NVC in Charleston, even though it states there is?

There might be one (I have no idea), but all K1 applications go from the service centre to the NVC in Portsmouth, NH. From there they go to the beneficiary's Embassy.

Here's hoping you have a speedy journey. Last summer it was very slow for everyone (just look at my timeline) and I hope you don't have the same kind of wait we all did back then for your NOA2.

Tash

*sigh* I SO can't wait to be able to file, looks like it won't be until August or September now. :(

Lori, I so remember that feeling! We initially thought we'd file in early Jan. 07 and ended up late July 07. Believe me, I know its tough. But remember, it is so worth the agony of waiting and it really does fade into the past once you are together. Hang in there!
