oops...maybe you were there studying AND working...but now it's too late to change the poll. If you were there to work AND study - please give your MAIN reason for being there.

I was teaching at a school in my husband's city. We met at a party a few months into my stay there.

11/2004 - Met in Brazil

09/2006 - Apply for K1

03/2007 - K1 approved

04/2007 - Apply for AOS & EAD

07/2007 - EAD approved

01/2008 - Conditional Residency approved

11/2009 - Apply to remove conditions

02/2010 - Permanent Residency approved

11/2010 - Apply for Citizenship

03/2011 - Citizenship approved

07/2011 - Moved back to Brazil

I went therer to live with my father after my parents got divorced.I met him when I was in 7th grade.

May 7,2007-USCIS received I-129f
July 24,2007-NOA1 was received
April 21,2008-K-1 visa denied.
June 3,2008-waiver filed at US Consalate in Panama
The interview went well,they told him it will take another 6 months for them to adjudicate the waiver
March 3,2009-US Consulate claims they have no record of our December visit,nor Manuel's interview
March 27,2009-Manuel returned to the consulate for another interrogation(because they forgot about December's interview),and they were really rude !
April 3,2009-US Counsalate asks for more court documents that no longer exist !
June 1,2009-Manuel and I go back to the US consalate AGAIN to give them a letter from the court in Colon along with documents I already gave them last year.I was surprised to see they had two thick files for his case !


June 15,2010-They called Manuel in to take his fingerprints again,still no decision on his case!
June 22,2010-WAIVER APPROVED at 5:00pm
July 19,2010-VISA IN MANUELITO'S HAND at 3:15pm!
July 25,2010-Manuelito arrives at 9:35pm at Logan Intn'l Airport,Boston,MA
August 5,2010-FINALLY MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!!
August 23,2010-Filed for AOS at the International Institute of RI $1400!
December 23,2010-Work authorization received.
January 12,2011-RFE

What if you met while doing study abroad, but already knew them from some other online contact, but prior to that barely had a friendship, let alone a relationship, and only called them out of sheer and utter desperation? :P

That came a few hours later when I was drunk off my #######. At the time I called though, I was really, really, really pissed and frustrated and pissed off again. :innocent:

Working for us

Justin and I were working for the same company, different branches. He got assigned on a one month project to Buenos Aires. We fell in love...and a year and a few trips later...we were married.

Friday is our 6 months anniversary :thumbs:

it must suck not being able to understand your own language, even when someone doesn't speak it perfectly. I hope your husband speaks perfect english, so you can always understand him, since you can't understand people that speak in a manner that is just not 100% american perfect. ;)

Dec 20 2004 : NVC sent DS 3032 to beneficiary, copy of DS 3032 & I-864 fee bill to petitioner

Jan 3 2005 : Petitioner received copy of DS 3032 and I-864 fee bill. Post-marked Dec 23rd.

Jan 11 2005 : Beneficiary received DS 3032 in Indonesia

Jan 31 2005 : Sent DS 3032 to NVC
