For those who trying to figure this stuff out:

I spoke to an operator at NVC.

Mail sent out Monday March 24 has not arrived yet.

Payment requests:Apllication of Support fee and IV fee bill

take one week to arrive.

Barcoded packages for I-864 and DS-230 take 4 weeks.

So they like to get paid up front and James shortcuts save time.

Everyone who has completed their case already knows this, hahaha

All that like to micromanage their timeline, i hope this helps a little.

The operators always tell you the date it was mailed out but this is not necessarily true. They told me mine was mailed out on 3/24 but when I received it, that was the date it was generated and not mailed until 4/7 and I received it 4/10. If things are mailed out promptly and not two weeks later, it would be ideal. We can't always trust what the operators tell us. I think they tell us whatever they feel will get us off the phone the quickest.

the true about mailing is operator tell you when the file actually generat and show on their computer screen.

they don't get the mail room date because sometime mailroom get backlog. i work in the mailroom for big corp before i know. the stamp on the mail room is what count as the send out date.

yes you do know it generate. but don't know the actually time send. that why sometime jame shortcut help to cut the time in half.

Yes I believe a lot of the packets they send us sits at their mail room for weeks after its been generated.

For example, I have already paid my IV bill before my wife received her DS-3032 form.

My case was completed the other day and I have not even received the DS-230 packet yet.

All in all I believe I have shaved off at least three months off our timeline by using the short cuts.

That three months I saved I believe are those times my instruction packets are sitting at NVC mail room.

Noel and Tintin,

I am awaiting the I-864 and DS-230 paperwork request from NVC (I already paid my bills/cashed already) The recording and operator say that Packet was generated on April 14th.

I have not tried Jamie' short cuts; Do you think I should attempt at this point/this stage of my case. You say that you saved quite a bit of time, how much of your time do you think was saved from Visa Bills Paid to receiving your Packet request?

Part of me says to just wait for the Packet from NVC and part of me says to go ahead and save precious time !!!! Any comments or sugggestions!

It's always a personal decision, but I used JSC a couple of years ago when helping a friend to process her husband's paperwork and it worked just fine all the way through. With the current backlog, I'm happy that I have all of my paperwork ready to go. It's a good feeling to hear a message and then just go straight to the post office! Even at your stage, time can be saved just in the preparation alone.

Just trying to muster the energy (and the money) to do this again.

NVC operators are not able to see when mail was sent out. Only the generation date. That's why you have to allow 2-4 weeks from the date of generation because mail does just sit in the mail room. Some gets mailed right away and some may take a week or two.
