Hi,

I was just wondering if this is something we should be concerned about. When my wife got her K1 visa, the alien ID number started with A98...., but at the POE the wrote A99..... When we filed the AOS we called this to their attention, and things seemed to be moving well. She received her work permit, permission to travel, and hopefully soon the green card interview. I just now noticed that all the paper documents she received referecing the case have the A98 number, but her work card and travel permit have the A99... number. Is this an error, or is it a notation that they use to indicate that something has been completed? Should we be concerned? According to the schedule of the CA service center, she should have been up already for her interview, but I am assuming because we got a RFE in October that the delay is for that reason. Should we just wait a little longer, or should we try calling about this issue? How easy is it to call about these issues, or even to find out if we are on track to have the interview?

Thanks

Your Alien Registration Number must be consistent throughout the immigration process.

If I were you, I would schedule an InfoPass appointment at your local USCIS office and try to get this rectified.

The sooner, the better.

I don't know how does it work. In my NOA's when I was on K1 process, I got an A#. In the POE I didn't get any number in the I94. With the NOA1 from AOS I got a different A# that the A# when I was on K1 process. I thought too, that it must be the same but now I getting worried about too.

I almost thought that maybe they changed the 8 to a 9 when the item was completed. Because on the acknowledgement of my EAD and AP, they had the number right, but both of them had the new number when they actually came. Why would they both have the same wrong number?
