Honeymoon destination Hawaii - problems?

Hey y'all,

Just a quick question, to be absolutely sure this is not getting me into problems. We're planning a honeymoon trip to Hawaii after our wedding. I know that I may not leave U.S. territory after the wedding with the K-1 visa, in order to not start over with a (then) K3 process. Is a trip to Hawaii risky in any way? I know it's one of the 50 States, but if by any accident we would have to go through immigration in Honolulu or Houston (on the way back home), I would rather go somewhere on the continental U.S.

Any thoughts / experiences ?

Thanks-

Daniel

It is a state as you already know. Why would you have to go through immigration or customs in Hawaii or Houston?? No different than flying from Houston to New York..............no need to worry.

Nope - absolutely fine - it is just like any other internal flight - I don't even think they checked my passport :)

Um, our airlines, airports and air traffic control, rudimentary as they are, can keep track of where those planes are arriving from. Your return flight from Hawaii will not have its passengers routed through Customs and Border Control.

So i take it Alaska is the same then. Even if it lands in Canada. Myself and my fiance were thinking of going there but wasnt too sure if that would cause a problem or not, as we would be flying probebly from Charlotte or Atlanta.

"Even if it lands in Canada". I wouldn't risk that. If it lands in Canada then all passengers will go through CBP inspection at the next USA landing. Alaska is fine but not with a routing through Canada.

Even if your only landing there for a connecting flight to Alaska?

Yes. Canadians and perhaps other foreigners and US Citizens returning from Canada will get on the plane. They'll be needing to pass though CBP inspection. So will everybody else. Don't do it.

Cheers for the advice and warning there pushbrk. Looks like it's plan two in The Tennessee Mountains for the honeymoon.

But isn't Canada a different story, because of pre-clearance ? Everyone travelling from Canada to the U.S. clears Immigration in Canada already, before boarding the plane. Thus, the passengers travelling to Alaska / Tennessee (I suppose that's where you live, William_Wallace) should already have passed Immigration.

Right ?
