Timeline
For those asking about changing the names in their passport, can you not do that at your country's embassy here in the States???

Eventually I will get mine changed at the British Embassy here.

Actually it is done at the Consulate... Which btw, might be in the same compound as the Embassy in Washington DC, but they could also have remote "offices" located in other major metropolitan areas as well.

kazakh Embassy asked to send a copy of green card + they told me it will take 6 months + I need to register in Kazakh immigration department saying that I immigrated to US.... to get this registration you need to go to Kazakhstan and wait for 3 months or pay $300 to Embassy and wait another 3 months.... So i really don't know what to do.... but what I will do i guess I will get passport in kazakhstan it takes 5 days + $30 ...
