I am just starting this process. I'm a US citizen living in El Salvador with my Salvadoran fiance. We have lived here together for almost a year, but want to move back to the States. Specifically I am concerned about receiving my NOA's after turning in my I-129. I am also worried about proving that I can provide financial support. Will a letter from my employer that I can resume my job after we both move to the States be enough? Any advice you can provide would be WONDERFUL!

A few suggestions.

Have you considered just marrying and then filing an I-130 directly to the consulate there? It is quicker, and has the big benefit of a true immigrant visa NO adjustment of status like a K-1.

DCF requires that you have been living in the foreign country for 6 months or longer, and evidence that you have not given up domicile in the USA.

Yes a letter from an employer will help you when you do get to the point of providing an affidavit of support.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

According to the website of the U.S. Embassy in El Salvador, DFC is not available there.

Do not attempt to submit the completed I-130 form to the Consular Section, we cannot process this form

Consular Section- San Salvador, El Salvador.
