I have always used a minimum SPF 15 on my face. The sun's rays are the number one cause of aging (along with smoking).

People generally think I'm just out of college and am around 25. I'm 35.

Deduce from that all you want!

i also wear a 30 or 40 spf on my face everyday...but generally not on my body unless i plan to show some skin (which i usually don't do much)

i'm somewhat pale but i'd rather look pale and young than old and wrinkly! like mags... people think i'm waaaay younger than i am. i hope it stays that way.

There is store in town and at the checkout there is a woman who is the colour of a rotting tangerine. She goes to the tanning booths too much and somewhere, in that warped brain, she thinks she looks good.

Also we get a lot of college girls coming into the place where I work. Orange. Again, thinking they look attractive. There is nothing attractive about skin that looks like shoe leather. Nothing.

Pale and beautiful. That's the way to go. :D

OMG I totally agree! I never used to wear sunscreen (but then again I never went out in the sun that much anyway...even being from a beach town.)

but what really scared me into it was a woman I worked with at a beach resort here in CA. She was one of those beach bum types. :) Anyway, I was probably 24 at the time and she was 32ish... But I SWEAR she looked 45-50 with her brown wrinkly and freckly face! After that, it was all about SPF for me! :star: I do think it also has to do with genetics. Both of my parents are minimally wrinkly.

I just bought SPF 50 because 30 wasn't strong enough. I'm very pale with blue eyes - it's like the sun looks for me, plus my dad is a red head.

I love to tan, but I burn, so I have to use something.

I'm not the stereotypical pale Swede, at all, and I rarely use sunscreen. When it happens (because I feel I should since it's the right thing to do even if I don't sunburn) I just use what's at home which means the kids' waterproof spf 50

I'm very meticulous with the kids' sunscreen though since they're all very fair.
