Hi guys,

I told you what happened to me under the Topic Title Help Needed for AOS BILL. Here is the update. I called USPS Express Unit today and spoke to a superviser and told him my express item was delivered to the wrong PO box. I asked him why my AOS bill was delivered to USDA instead of National Visa Center in Saint Louis, MO. He said USDA stands for National Finance Center Administrative Collections. It is a finance center where all checks are processed. The center has many many different PO Box numbers and USDA PO Box 790135 is National Visa Center for processing AOS bills. He insisted that my express item was delivered to the correct PO Box. I am really confused. I would like to know if this has ever happened to any VJ memeber who sent the AOS bill by express, the item was delivered to USDA and was processed by NVC. Your reply will be greatly appreciated.

I can't track my AOS bill to where exactly it delivered to, but my situation is very similar to you regarding the time at St. Louis. I sent my AOS bill via priority mail on April 1st, and it arrived in St. Louis on April 2nd just like yours. I checked online and here's all I see:

Status: Delivered

Your item was delivered at 11:11 PM on April 2, 2008 in SAINT LOUIS, MO 63179.

As of 04/11/08, my cashier's check hasn't been cashed yet (I just called my bank and verified). If someone gave me a check on the 2nd I would not wait until after 11th to cash it. But NVC, like most govt services, is notorious for inefficiency. I would say give the slow NVC a little time. Hopefully, by early next week it'll process both our AOS bill. Good luck!

I sent mine Priority mail also and it got there in 2 days. It says the same as yours Tyrobe when I check delivery status. Sounds to me like the National Finance Center is where all checks are returned for the NVC. Its a processing center and thats what they are doing...processing your check. Sounds all good to me. If you wrote the correct PO box on there then don't fret..I'm sure its in good hands. i hear it cna take up to 2 weeks or more to process the checks.

it could be the first, because NVC experiment with online payment why not experiment processing too. you never know. in the mean time there is nothing you can do but wait till your check is cash. i have to wait for 2 weeks before the money order was cash, hope that give you green light on how slow nvc is (they batch everything from checks to send out dhl)

i hope you get your aos input and they can generate i864 w/out waiting

Hi TyroBe, thanks for letting me know. Guess what I called Both my Bank and NVC just now. My Bank said no, check is still not cashed as of now and Aos payment is not processed at NVC. OBviously, sth is wrong. Looks like my AOS cashier's check is lost, God knows where. Planning to do it online. Hope that will work. Totally frustrated.
