It's a shame. If it were not for his stance on the war, his age, core policies, flip-flopping to attract conservatives, and some of his conservative positions... I would consider voting for him. For now, he'll just have to settle with my respect and attentiveness to his POVs. We need a third party. I'll place a bet with anyone that John McCain will be dead before the end of his first term. I wouldn't count McCain out - I don't think he's a lame duck candidate and he does have a lot of strong support.

It's a long shot...almost as long a shot as Hillary has in being the Democratic nominee. Unfortunately for McCain, the nail in his political coffin has been his allegiance to Bush and his failed policies. American voters are tired of that old song and dance...history foretells it.

It'll depend how much of that comes out in the general election - certainly a Bush endorsement isn't particularly useful and will likely appeal only to the few remaining extremist nutjobs who have a hard-on for Bush.
