To stand up and say illegal immigration is wrong because... well you might as well include yourself your next remark unless your a real native of this land. Saying ohh but I was born here.. well your daddy or his daddy or your great great what ever wasn't born here where they? Go take a look in the mirror look at your name, your last name.. you and your people came from somewhere too.

a superficial argument if there ever was one.

Really... and how would that be?

there was no usa back then, no immigration policy ;)

in other words, that was then. this is now.

I live in a town where tons of people are illegal aliens. I never really used to care anymore but the stuff I have to go thru to get my husband here legally and my husband walking on eggshells to always "do the right thing" (he doesnt want any problems in his new country here) I can't help but start to resent the fact that illegals are just "doing whatever" and not following the "rules". I know its a lot deeper than that..........people have to support their family back home etc but my husb and I pay for everything ourselves and dont ask anyone for a favor. THese illegal aliens do work hard and contribute to our local economy however as a whole I feel they are taxing "the system." It is true that if they did enforce immigration laws in my town it would be a ghost town.................

If memory serves correctly there was a US when my own people where flooding this place. Being treated like dirt, filth like some kind of infesting parasite that had to be removed. I can't help but feel history is repeating itself again with immigration. It's easy for you and people like you to generate excuses to try and justify your reasoning that they "the illegals" are the cause of all thats wrong.

The cause of all thats wrong in the country starts and ends with the guy at the top!

I think it's incredibly hypocritical for those who want socialized health care or any social program to allow the fiscal nightmare that becomes of a rampant and unfiltered immigration system (more specifically, the lack of controls on illegal immigration) that is currently the case.

I don't want extra taxes going to help people who don't believe in following our laws while many who do come here legally get punished for doing things the legal way.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

When I first saw your post I thought here we go this is going to be interesting. Surprise Surprise there is a bit of logic up in there hey. Probably the Southern roots kicking in.. ;)

This is not a case of being against brown people, as some would like people to believe. This is a case of looking out for the 45,000,000+ Americans living in poverty first. This is about ensuring America does not end up some South American 3rd world slum. Where the rich are extremely rich and the poor are dirt poor. Where the crooks and drug dealers run the cities; As is the case in many South American cities.

God, you've no idea what happens if they actually have to go to the hospital and get treated.. Pay up or get deported.. is what I heard from an "undocumented" friend. That's very humane isn't it? Of course "they" will tell you we all pay more because of them.

i call bullshit...

i work in a hospital in the center of a city that has many illegal aliens, and not all from south of our border... no emergency room can turn anyone away... a vast majority of illegal aliens who have been to the ER or go to L&D and deliver a baby just disappear... they give fake numbers... fake names... sometimes stolen identities, sometimes just made up... and when those bills dont get paid by the person who benefited from that service, it has to get absorbed and made up somewhere else... so, dont kid yourself and think that those expenses are not a cause of increase in medical costs for everyone...

just one illegal alien that has a child who winds up in the NICU could literally rack up a million dollars of medical bills... premature, in the hospital with respiratory support, for weeks... it adds up... and no child is treated inhumanely based on their parents' status... sometimes, we dont even know, unless the parents let it slip... guess what, no USCIS has been called in response to it...

so believe what you will from your illegal friends mouth... but, in order to do that, you will have to throw common sense out the window

dammit... i have avoided political posts for so freaking long... *sigh

Illegal Immigration absolutely PISSES me off. I hope that word is acceptable, cause that is the nicest of all the "bad" words I can think of at the moment.

I went to ALOT of work, not to mention the worrying for approvals, waiting for dates, white knuckle tension moments at interviews, all to immigrate my husband LEGALLY.

We lived right next to the US/Mexican border, so we probably could have done this all in some illegal way, and been together sooner etc. etc. but, I didnt even consider an illegal entry for even one moment.........never even crossed my mind, as it should not anyone elses either. What would it benefit us? If had somehow crossed the border illegally, got a job, and lets say we went on to buy a house or car or whatever else Americans do for livng and investments, and he got deported..............well, what good would that have been/?

I absolutely deplore ANYONE who comes here ILLEGALLY.........and so should every other American. Ya all need to come thru the gates with your ticket in hand to see the game....

I am so angry about it

I have just seen a post from someone saying that he has the visa but his fiance has gone off with someone else and asking advise if it would be ok if he goes to the states and marries someone else, he has someone who is willing to.

Nothing about how devastated he is about the loss of his fiance

It seems all he wants is to get to the states by whatever means possible

It just gets me so upset when there are so many VJ members waiting and waiting for the day we can be with the one we love and then there are people like this who are just using this as a way to get a green card. It just makes it harder for honest people who are going through this process, the more of these types you get the more the authorities will take their time in checking us out and waiting times will go up

It makes me so livid, and I feel that these types of people should not come onto VJ take advise from all of us who have worked hard on the process to be with the ones we love, it is like a slap in the face

sorry to go, I should go take a chill pill lol

It's pretty obvious that, for many, especially conservatives, it is. I think you're the last person who should be trying to tell me this as it's obvious you're a flaming racist.

The crooks and drug dealers don't rule the cities in Latin America, the oligarchy does. And as a matter of fact, most of the time they are in cahoots with the drug dealers.
