Why do people here complain so much?

If the planes crashed they they would be crying and suing the airlines. The same people who are outraged over the cancellations would have their dumb faces on TV attacking the airline if a plane crashed and their family was on it.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

You know First amend BS.. I remember being on a Lufthansa flight in Europe and hearing some American dude complain loudly because the taxing was taking to long. Someone English man then told him to shut up yank and the entire plan cheered.

Same thing with this airline situation. Everyone has to give their 2 cent opinion. It's like what part of safety does your little brain not understand.

That is true. I'd rather they be fixed then flying without meeting standards, as annoying as a cancelled flight would be.

I can only speak for myself, but typically I expect that when I am paying for a service that it will be done, on time and correctly. That's how I perform my job. I expect the same from others. I realize I expect too much. The point is, there should not be planes operating unsafely. If that were expected from the get-go, there wouldn't be this issue now to begin with.

This doesn't personally affect me, but this is a perfect example of a situation where I would definitely be ticked. Other people might think differently-I tend to have a very low tolerance level for incompetence.

It's just BS they have to cancel all these flights. There is plenty of time to comply with safety guidelines when the new rules are handed down. Yesterday, no one said, you MUST have all these in compliance by tomorrow. They often have months to years to comply. It's BS that at the last minute they are cancelling everything to comply. Poor management is absolutely right.

No, I wouldn't want my plane to crash because they are lax on their safetly regulations. But, I also would not want to sit in an airport overnight because they didn't take care of their business on a timely basis. I've spent nights in airports and had airlines put me up in hotels......it's not all it's cracked up to be.

I know if my boss told me to do something and I waited till beyond the last minute, working overtime and making other people work overtime to help me do something I should've been working on for months, I would get my a$$ fired.

That's an inspiring story. I have a similar one involving, would you believe, a loud-mouthed Australian. Although it was an American lady who told him to STFU, to much snickering.

Most likely.I much rather have them fix the airplanes than take the chance of boarding a faulty one.And to answer your question, bitching, moaning, and groaning,is as American as baseball and apple pie.

Isn't that the truth. It always amazes me how people keep their jobs. I have never had a job where I would get away with that, and I hope I never do.

What do people expect from 100 year old planes. The airline industry here is pretty much bankrupt. I agree with incompetence but what do people seriously expect. It all comes down to management. When will American companies finally wake up and realize bottom dollar cut throat policies do not work in the long run. I work with people who boast about having ivy league degrees under their belt but do not have a drop of common sense. Something which is needed in every industry. Google gets it..

Having worked for qantas it is not hard to see why the airlines here simply don't know what they are doing. The US aviation industry needs to:

  • Reduce domestic routes and increase international routes.
  • Replace planes
  • Consolidate
  • Upgrade the crappy airports / terminals
  • Hire new and fresh customer service agents
  • Hire new and younger flight stewardess.
  • Actually pay their workers a decent wage
  • Start serving food again

These are just a few points I can think off the top of my head. Most of all the industry has to be opened up to international carriers and ownership. Clearly the carriers here don't know what they hell they are doing..
