I almost got my cat a $3,000-dollar surgery last week. Luckily he didn't need it. But it seems obvious to me that it was worth doing. I wasn't going to spend it on starving children. My cats are part of my family and I treat them as such. If I had a child and the cat and child both needed surgery, I'd spend the money on the child. But I'd probably borrow money to get the cat surgery too.

I don't see why anyone has a problem with people who see their pets as more valuable than you may. Live and let live.

Honestly, don't you have a problem with people who see their pets as less "valuable" than you do?

And it's because it really gets my goat that there are people out there who see their pet's existence as more important than *any* human's. I just think it's a sad testament. Just being honest here. I could tell you that I don't give a ####### that people value animal life more than human life, but that would be false.

Seriously, do you really know anyone who would put their pet before their spouse, parent, child? I don't.

My dad is the type of person who loves his dog more than his human family.

Just an example: his dog has given my son ringworm 2 times after licking him on the face, and the dr even sd it was from the dog, which was taken to the vet and confirmed of having ringworm. My dad just looked at me and said "stop hating my dog".

second example: Dog bit my son, I slapped dog, dad slapped me and sd it was my sons fault for scareing the dog. My son was just walking past the dog in the livingroom, nothing more.

Its been like this even with me and my sister with his past dogs growing up. The dogs were perfect, and we as the kids were second to the dogs.

in result, i hate dogs

for some to have kids are much more of a burden rather than a blessings. Your children are made of your own flesh and blood, the pets doesn't. Maybe for some they think out of practicality in life. With kids, there's a continuous buying of clothing, diapers (god knows they poop 10x or more everyday), food (from milking years till they grow up and get so choosy), and fun starts once they start to step up in school (it requires a lot of $$$$$), and an anxiety 'attack' trying to figure out what your child would be (will they be a good citizen, a God-feared loving person, or worst they could be an additional statistics of people in jail...Amidst all this uncertainties, I am still wanting to rear my own child.....and have my dogs in the house too!

Well, it's proven that pets can be stress and blood pressure reducers... Sounds like a pet can provide a nice balance to a household with kids.

If animals were supposed to wear clothes they wouldn't have fur coats to keep them warm. I think dressing up animals is cruel and disrespectful, personally.

Well I don´t dress animals either but it´s funny you say this like that :) I could as well say if women were supposed to have no hairs in their armpits there wouldn´t be any growing there :P So shaving it off might as well be cruel :D (joking :D)
