I-130 questions from a newbie...

Hi everyone,

Hoping I could get some insight on a few questions on the I-130. I read on a post here I do not have to submit an I-130 for my stepson at the same time that I do so for my wife. However, I know I will eventually have to submit the I-130 for him.

a) In regards to question 1, section "D" of the I-130-- If I submit the I-130 at a later time for my stepson, do I have to include his name NOW on my wife's I-130?

b ) Section "C", question 17 -- I bought a DIY visa kit a while back. It instructed me not to list myself here, since my wife is the relative (beneficiary). It said to list just our children. Is this accurate? Or should I put myself down?

c) Last one: Section "C", question 21 -- A friend of my father told me not only to list the LAST time we lived together, but pretty much all the times we've lived together while I visited my wife. He said to do this in order to show I was around when we were married, and when our daughter was conceived. (in order to prevent suspicion from USCIS) I went ahead and prepared a sheet with this info to attach to the I-130. Is this really necessary? Or does, "The more information, the better"... apply here?

Don't know if any of this is very critical, but like all of us here, I just wanna make sure it's done right!!!

Thanks!

If you want your step-son to get an immigrant (CR2/IR2) visa, you need to submit his I-130 now. If your intentions are K3 for wife and K4 for her son, then it's your choice, now or when you file AOS. I suggest you do it now, so that even in the K scenario, the AOS is not delayed and is processed together instead of waiting for an I-130 approval.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
