How do u know u got touched?

Hey!

I was wondering how do people know they got touched?

I created an account with USCIS and asked for email updates.

Yesterday I noticed the "last updated" date on our case changed. Is that a touch?

I never received an email notification though...

I129-F sent: 03-17-2008

NOA1: 03-24-2008

NOA2: 06-04-2008

Interview: 07-10-2008 - APPROVED!!!

Going back home: 07-23-2008 yaaaaay

Court house wedding: 10-09-2008

AOS sent: 10-16-2008

NOA1 for AOS, EAD and AP: 10-22-2008

Case transfered to CSC: 11-07-2008

Biometrics: 11-12-2008

EAD an AP approved: 12-23-2008

AOS approved: 2-27-09

Hi there, Yes when the date changes that is a touch, means your file has been moved, looked at, each time they touch your file it is scanned and that is reflected on the date change. You will only recieve an email on approval or rfe.

My official "cut & paste" answer regarding "touching"...

"Touching" is meaningless and no big deal. Some petitions get 'touched" and others never do. It only indicates someone had your petition in their hands and scanned it into on the database. Other than proving your petition is not in the trash, it is nothing to get excited over. What truly counts are NOAs (yeah!) and RFEs (Boo!) :)

Touches do mean something, your case was handled. Mine was touched and it got approved 1 week later. I know for others touches meant nothing to them but at least it was handled. Good luck and if you want to get excited about it. Go ahead. Just don't take to much faith in it until you get and NOA2 like they say!! Good luck!! :star:
