Does anyone else find the whole Wrestling thing rather bizarre?

Well isn't the target audience young boys? I remember all the boys in jr. high loved watching it and now my daughter's friends who are boys in middle school love it. I would think the draw to watch would leave by the time you hit adulthood but then that's just my opinion, and I"m a girl.

It may be TARGETED at young boys, but all of the "fans" that I've met are 30-40 year old "men".

Wrestling is perhaps the most ridiculous display that I have ever seen.

Except for NASCAR.

I thoroughly enjoyed wrestling from the 1970s up until the mid 1990s. I saw the direction it was going and the stories taking a different path. It made for great entertainment and some damn fine laughs. But I don't care for it much any more. Maybe I just finally outgrew it!

Through a weird confluence of circumstances we currently only have one TV channel - and have for a year now. Spike TV. Great if you like Wrestling, UFC, CSI reruns or extreme videos shows.

In the UK our wrestlers could double as darts players.

I think UFC is worse - cause they are actually beating each other, and seem to have a taste for it - but its more "honest" than wrestling.

i used to watch wrestling once in awhile when I was a kid.. iit was funny back then.. now it is too much like a soap with all the dang story lines etc... not really any fighting

No totally serious. We inherited "free" cable from our landlord when we moved in. Worked good for a couple of months before it didn't (except for Spike). Just didn't get around to ordering our own service. Had to make do with Netflix and internet news.
