 sorry guys im stupid! i've been reading the guide on here about how to put the i-129f together for petition for fiancee. also been reading the hefty official guide and feel a little confussed  as one seems to be saying one thing and the other something else. i know i'm being dumb. i did ask this before but didnt get the answer i needed. and i cant find any post with it either which i thought i'd seen before.

my question is what document does my fiance (usc) need from me the (foreign fiance) to send in with the petiton?

i Know that he needs his birthcertificate, but the way i read the guide on here which seems so straight forward and detailed it seems to me he doesnt need one from me but then in the official guide to me it suggests he need to send in mine too! please someone translate and spell it out for me?

thanks Hannah.

It is true that the beneficiary's birth certificate is not required, but some people have been asked for it.

Only send copies. Take the original with you to the interview.

Good luck :)

You will need the following from the beneficiary (foreign national petitioning to enter the US):

- Signed, dated letter of intent to marry

- Signed G-325A. There are 4 pages, all identical EXCEPT for a little notation in the corner, so make sure you send all 4, and not 4 copies of the same page.

- Passport-style photo. I can't remember how many to send in, but I think I included 2?

- Copy of birth certificate

- Copy of birth certificate translated into English (with notary stamp)

- Divorce papers (if applicable)

- Name change (if applicable)

I also included, but I think these were not necessary:

- Copy of passport

- Copy of official ID

- Copy of certificate of residence

I think that's it ....

Beneficiary's birth certificate is not necessary at this point (filing petition) correct? Only at interview stage?

Ahh you're right. That is not necessary. A friend of mine recommended I send it, but I'm not sure why.

Correct. It's not asked for until the interview.

Some people have been issued an RFE for the beneficiary's birth certificate though.

Doesn't hurt to just add a copy with the petition. But it is definitely needed for the interview.

 I agree, I remember reading some cases of people getting RFEs for this reason.

LuckyDucky, great advice! Very complete checklist :

OP, if you got boarding passes or stamps on your passport to prove that you've been on the same place with your fiance, I'd include a copy of those too.
