I received a call today from my congressman's aide. i called his office a few weeks back. my question was why is there such a big difference between processing times at the VSC and CSC. His aide told me she called the VSC and they told her they were currently processing I-129F from 9-17-07. I told her that is interesting because several VJers have submitted in Jan 08 and have been approved.

So not only is the USCIS a black hole where we know nothing about what is going on. They also seem to continue to lie when they gets inquiries.

Mike, I am so sorry. The Vermont office is on the ball and it's sad that the Cali office is so far behind. The two of you are in our prayers. Zandy always tells me that God has a reason for delays even though we don't understand why.

It's not only January 08 that has been approved @ VSC.. March 08 approvals are starting to trickle in while they seemed to have forgotten other people who filed way back in august 07. I am lucky to have been approved in less than 2 months but my heart breaks for those people who have filed last year and still waiting for approval. It pains me to check our January VSC thread and see that there are still 18 people who are waiting for approval.

I do feel your frustrations although, perhaps I will not know it as intimately as you do. If only I could cast some magic spells that would give an approval to all of you who are still waiting from both centers. It is really sad that there's just no rhyme nor reason for everything. :(

Pls know that I continue to hold you and Maribel in my thoughts and prayers and I do hope that you and all the others who have been waiting, get that approval soonest.

Just stay strong, and when it becomes hard to do so, try hard to focus on the real prize: A LIFETIME WITH YOUR BELOVED MARIBEL. Same time next year, you will be with her.(F)

I never understood the VSC CSC difference in processing time. I wanted to clarify the processing dates. The aid was told that VSC was processing applications from 9-07. This may be true. As I understand it, the date that they report is the oldest case still processing. For example, when VSC first began processing cases in 9-07 this one case might have had issues that required additional processing (imagine worst case, criminal records, missing divorce decrees, inconsistent forms, missing signatures, whatever). While VSC continued working on that case, they also continued to mover forward with the other cases 10/07--- 1/08. But that 9-07 still hasn't been decided. So then VSC will report the processing date as 9-07, the oldest case remaining.

I did the same thing. Called my congressman, and complained about the disparity between the service centers. She (the aide) told me that CSC is the "overflow" center for all the other centers. That includes NSC and TSC. So, when they get behind, they dump their excess onto CSC. Which makes petitions that have been sitting for too long, even sit LONGER!!!! K-1's seem to take the least priority on the list, unfortunately. I thought my congressman would be a big help, because he has a foreign wife, but that wasn't the case. He's not running for another term, so he is doing pretty much, nothing until his term runs out. I would call my senator, but he is too busy running for president (Obama). Not that he's done anything for the state of Illinois in the first place.

It's the typical government mentality.....one hand doesn't know what the other hand is doing. Don't get me started now. You would think that if VSC can approve I-129F's in 6 weeks, USCIS could transfer CSC files to them. But noooo, because it makes too much sense. And all of us are powerless, helpless, clueless, and just waiting ....... and wait until it's our turn. Prayers, patience ... lots of it. And eventually our turn will come. God bless us all.

Romans 8:31

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?

Don't worry too much, I had the same problem with CSC. It still galls me that some people got really lucky and had their cases go through so quickly, and ours took so long.......

I try to imagine that waiting helps make us stronger, which in many ways is true. I have not seen my love in more than 9 months. Now, our case is "stuck" again at the consulate in Saigon. One woman who turned in her Packet 3 nine days before us had her interview 2 days ago (and got the pink slip). We are still waiting for an interview date to be set for us.

You must tell yourself over and over again, this does not change our love for each other. It is not fair, but this is NOT about us. It is only the government, not doing its job fairly. You will prevail eventually. Try not to argue with each other too much over this. You are not alone. I know about the arguing and the impatience firsthand. It is very silly, but very real. Good luck!

yes i know to well it is the government's doing. i was in the army 11yrs and realize all the paperwork involved. and since 9-11 i am sure it has gotten worse. luckily i am going to visit her in may. we really had hoped she would be here in June but reality has set in and we realized that will never happen. we are hoping Aug./sept, but that is only in our prayers. we don't argue which is good. we know we have done all that we can, it is up to the paper pushers now

Hi Mike and Maribel,

Sorry to hear about this. But did the congressman reply to you what exactly they can do? I personal was very frustrated too when Anna was not here and the congressman wasn't able to do too much either.

Our visajourney was a very bumpy road also...first was "public charge issue" so the Embassy didn't want to let Anna go. Then when Anna was doing her adjustment of status here....the IO forgot to "click the right button" after she said she's gonna approve Anna's case and she should receive her GC. The 2 weeks became 2 months, 3 months...and Anna never got it, while other couples received their GC in 10 or 7 days after the interview...

We finally found out our IO didn't "click the right button" from the InfoPass with another officer. So can u imagine our case was never picked up, never finished during those 3 months?!

Everyone makes mistake, but USCIS never notify you nor appologize to you. And that's what make people mad.

Once again, me and Anna really pray for you and sure it will work out in the end

Best wishes

Jacky

Contact Senator Durbin's office. His aide Bart Ellefritz will have the information before O'Bamas office even sends the permission form. It may be coincidence, but the two times I have had Mr. Ellefritz make an inquiry the process was completed soon after. One was during the delay from USCIS to the NVC and the other was about 8 weeks after the interview.

If you are not over the 180 days then you are still within USCIS times. If you look at the timelines, the K1 visas have been approved faster than the K3 visas. Either way, families takes a backseat to employment visas.

all the congressman's aide said was she called the VSC and they told her they were not approving cases in 23 days . they were working on cases from 9-17-07. so i faxed her several time lines showing approval in Feb and even march, and time lines from th CSC where people from sept and Oct are still waiting. he words were she would add this to the file. and then when i called the USCIS i was told my file was in a box on th shelf. how reassuring. well i am going to see Maribel in may. meet the family, well only 25, and have an engagement party. so between the phone and web cam we maintain some level of sanity. thanks for the good wishes
