Biometrics Appointment in Charleston

Ok, I promised to spill all the juicy details so here goes.

We drove up the night before so we would be sure we knew where to go the next morning. It's only a 2 hour drive, and beautiful scenery so we had a pleasant evening. Finding the office was pretty easy from directions printed out from Expedia.com. The hard part was finding a hotel anywhere close. After driving around for about an hour we finally stopped and asked at a gas station. We found a Best Western for about $90 a night that was about a 10 minute drive away, even in heavy traffic.

So, next morning we got to their office at 7:56 AM. They were already open with several people sitting inside waiting. The security guard was friendly and helpful and made sure we got to where we needed to go. Our appointment was for 9, but we went in and got number 2. The girl that had number 1 took longer than us to fill out her paper, so Abdel was the first one. They took his fingerprints and signature and pictures, then asked him to fill out an evaluation on them and drop it in a box and then he was done. We were out of their office by 8:33 AM.

Everyone in the Charleston SC office that we dealt with was super professional and helpful. I have to say I was very very impressed. So, if you get your appointment there, you are very lucky.

To top it off, both our EAD and AP had touches today!

I agree with you about Charleston Liz, I have only been there once and that was when I went for an infopass appointment to see if I could get any information on when I might get my citizenship interview, they were very helpful, I did not go back there for the interview in the end, it was in Atlanta.

Thanks Zena. That's good to know. We really have no idea which office is handling any of our stuff. I just keep hoping that each one will go to the office that is moving the fastest on that kind of document.

They seem to really play russian roulette with who does what. One guy Abdel goes to school with said they sent him clear to Charlotte for his biometrics. A couple I work with had to go to Atlanta for their's for an international adoption they are doing.
