Hello. My wife's green card expires in mid July. I'm sending the i-751 next week. My question is.. there's a wedding in her home country in August that she wishes to attend. When do they usually send her some kind of document (extension?) so she can travel outside the US? How long should we expect to wait for this. We live in California. Thanks.

I-751 NOA1 extension letter should arrive within a month after filing the I-751, that letter will extend green-card for a year, just show the letter, and expired green-card to re-enter the USA.

If the letter has not arrived by the time of trip, then schedule an info pass appointment and get an I-551 stamp in passport to provide evidence of LPR status.

Update Profile it still shows K-3, you are at AOS approved. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...rCP&CODE=01

thanks so much. So it sounds like she can still go in August if she has the extension letter before then. So I'll wait to get the letter around mid May since I'm sending the i-751 mid April. She'll be relieved to hear that.
