This might be a long shot, but I figured it was worth a try....

My fiance arrived here in NYC about two weeks ago and is currently looking for work.

His English isn't so hot, so I am trying to find him a job within an Italian or Albanian (he is fluent in both) Construction Company.

He has lots of experience and his resume is ready to go. If anyone has any useful information, please pm me. We live in Brooklyn, but anywhere in the NY metro area would work.

Thanks,

Susie

it's not so much finding an italian construction company, there are plenty of those, but they dont all speak italian...most of them are run by second or third generation italians who dont speak a lick of italian...those are of no help to us at all

See the finding jobs with limited English thread.

His ideal job may not be his first job, and learning English may be the only way to get the idea job.

i actually replied to an add on careerbuilder.com that said absolutely nothing about italian or albanian...it was just an add for a construction worker with the skills and qualities that he has...i faxed over his resume and the woman called me back a few minutes later, asked me a few questions, told me that the workers there are mostly albanian, and that her husband (the boss) is from italy...she told me to have him come for an interview today (to speak with the italian guy), and he got the job!! wahoooooooooo good luck to you!!!
