Is it ok for fiancee to enter the US with the petitioner after getting the K1 visa

Hi all,

I've heard that if petitioner wanted to visit fiancee/fiance and come back to the US together is not allowed. Beneficiary should enter US by him/herself.

It doesn't make sense to me.

Hi,

I can tell yout his is not true. I know a few people who have moved to the US with a K1 visa, the petitioner went to the country of the beneficiary first only to come back with that person so they could cross the border together.. a lot of people do this so more personal items of the beneficiary can be carried at once.

No, it's not true. Many people do this. My fiancé and I did it also.

Yes, you can pick whichever international airport you want. Los Angeles is fine.

Yes, you can travel together. If you have the chance to do that, definitely travel together; you'll never forget the trip, and it'll probably be less stressful for the newly arriving fiancee.

Any route that a scheduled airline takes will be fine. They'll all take you through immigration processing at a place that can process the visa. If you have a long route with lots of connecting flights, you'll go through immigration either at the very first place you land inside the US, or perhaps at a preclearance station immediately before you board the plane that will take you to the US.

And to answer the next question, if the immigration processing has separate lines for citizens and visitors, since you're one of each, you can probably stay together and take either line. If there's an officer directing traffic into the various lines, ask that person which way you should go. If not, the visitor's line is a very safe bet. If you wait together in the US Citizen/Permanent Resident's line, they'll probably let you through, but they may send you over to wait in the visitor's line. In any case, there's a good chance they'll send you off into secondary inspection for a few minutes to process the visa paperwork.

My fiancee is entering through JFK! I heard that is the only airport in the country that gives you the stamp so you can work right away!
