hi, i am really confused i applied for a k3/k4 visa for my hubby and baby, i received the noa 1 receipt already but hubby who is in the Philippines received a check list letter response from the visa center asking him to send a DS-230 and I-864 and other related fees. it states that he applied for a IR1 visa. just wondering why they changed it? or do they usually do this? because i don't plan to apply for a IR1 visa for him yet. can anybody help me with this . thanks in advance

Please update your timeline to help us answer you. It sounds like your I-130 was approved and sent to the National Visa Center.

Nobody has "applied for" any visa yet. You filed two petitions. Which one was sent to NVC? Both?

We need more details.

hi, i sent one k3 and one k4 for hubby and baby. the I-130 for each of them were approved this feb 22,2008 and their I-129 was sent to the visa center last march 15,2008, i haven't received any notice yet if these I-129 were approved. just wondering if hubby needs to fill out and send the DS-230 and I-864. or do we wait for the approval letter of their I-129 first. sorry if my question is a bit confusing.

the I-130 petition garners the IR1/CR1 visa. The I-129F petition garners the K3 and K4 visas. If the I-130 was approved and not the I-129F then he'll be getting the immigrant visa, not the K3 visa. Which is the better of the 2 really and will save you time and money in the long run.

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR EMAIL ME. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT CURRENT US IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!!!!!

Your question is confusing because you are confused and are confusing terminology all over the place. Please read the guides.

If NVC sent your husband instructions for an IR1 visa, that's generally preferred to the K visas anyway. Was the same sent for the baby?

What's really confusing me is that your husband is bringing a baby with him but I guess it is a child from a previous relationship. Your own child most likely wouldn't need a visa.

Please give us a complete timeline. You started one but haven't kept up. It looks like you filed your I-129F very late, so it's probably not going to be part of the picture. Just continue with the immigrant visas if both I-130s are approved. If only one I-130 was filed, different story. I'm still lost about the child.
