AP at NBC

Hi, I was just wondering how people's experiences with having their AP processed at the National Benefits Center have been, and under what circumstances (AOS, renewal, etc.). I only ask because I haven't seen a lot of cases or signatures where people's APs get processed at the NBC.

Thanks!

Why does USCIS list processing times for APs for other offices then, if everything gets processed out of NBC??? Doesn't make sense.

On another note:

I understand moving this thread for topic based purposes, but I placed it in the green card general discussion forum since I didn't think that would be regulated too strictly since it's GENERAL DISCUSSION forum, and a lot fewer people read the AP EAD specific forum.

In other words, I placed it there because I wanted people to actually read it. Why strictly regulate a general green card forum anyway? Doesn't that defeat the point of the word general?

The processing times are mostly all Dec 16, 2007. This falls in line with their August 06 memo that explains that if USCIS is within their "goals" the online processing times will reflect the "goal" date... if they are backlogged - they will reflect the actual date of the oldest application.

Essentially what I am saying is regardless that the local offices reach into the processing of AP's extends only to the need for biometrics as NBC does all the processing. This is the same for EAD's.

You can see the memo HERE that explains what the processing dates mean.

Secondly - this topic was moved because it was appropriate. Specific questions regarding interim benefits to AOS (ie: EADs and APs) are discussed here. The suggestion that you posted it in the AOS forum didnt really work out - as you had to bump it to get someone to read it. If you would like to suggest merging the forums together, I suggest making a thread in the Site discussion forum with your ideas.

Thank you Lal for confirming what I have long suspected! -- that they put up ideal processing times if they aren't backlogged, and real processing times if they are. The processing times at USCIS have just nevered jived with processing times here, and now it makes sense. That memo is EXTREMELY informative.
