Hi,

Please please please can anyone help.

I have my interview in London on Friday (May 5th) and I just now looked at the invoice slip for the

deposit I have to make to Barclays and in red letters across the middle it says valid until 31 March 2006.

I didn't even receive this from them until April 11th. Does this mean I'm screwed? can I go to the interview without having paid it??? Has this happened to anyone else? I would call and ask but it's too late now and it'll have to wait until the morning, but if anyone knows anything I would be grateful.

Thanks

:(

Hmm. Seems I've seen this question on here before....can't remember the answer.

I can tell you this. When you queue up at the embassy Friday, a lady will be outside 'directing' the lines. She will remind anyone who has NOT paid the fee to go to the Barclay's around the corner and pay it before entering the building. Get her attention and show her the receipt - I'm sure she will tell you what to do....

Sorry I can't do any better than that.....

This happened to me when i had my interview on April 19th. I got the letter while i was on holiday and when i got back my slip was void. I went to the embassy for my interview and just asked the guy at the front who was asking to see your appointment letters and so on, and he just gave me a new slip and told me where the bank was. The bank opens at 8am and is probably a 10-15 minute walk. I even went back to the embassy early and was allowed in at 9.15 (though my appointment time was 10.30) and i was out by 10.15. I worked myself into a panic when i realised about my paying slip being void, i called my fiance in tears- he thought someone had died!! but you'll be fine and good luck!!

Hey There !

I recall someone else on another forum having such a problem.

They had no problem paying at the counter when they arrived.

As long as the fee is paid, they're OK. You can use a credit card or a debit card.

Good Luck on your interview ! :)

For those of us who are curious..and not at interview stage yet..and therefore clueless.. :D you have to pay the visa fee at Barclays? (any branch is it? I guess so..) The Embassy don't take a credit card when you are there or cash?

They send you (when they send you your interview date) a sort of paying in slip from Barclays which you have to take to the bank and pay and get a receipt....i think. having not done this quite yet i'm not 100% positive!

I've not heard of anyone paying at the embassy itself...but you never know. I'm sure someone here will know more about this.

No, you don't have to pay the fee specifically at Barclay's. I just

took it down to my local bank here in N.Ireland, and they took the

money off me just fine. :) I think I remember reading something

in the Packet 3 instructions that states you can take the giro credit

slip to any bank, but that they could charge a fee if it's not a

Barclay's branch.

I've just returned from paying mine at my local Barclays. Teller knew exactly what it was and told me to be sure to take the receipt with me to the interview :) I'm now £189 pounds lighter as there are three of us :o
