I can't even imagine how hard this must be after waiting that long! It's only been two months since I sent mine in and it's already killing me. I'm getting very involved with some of my hobbies. I do historical costuming, so I'm about to launch into a huge project that will probably take longer to finish than the rest of this process. :) I'm also very involved with church. Much as it always hurts to walk away from my computer (and my fiance), it's good to get a few hours of distraction. I also play a lot of video games. :)

I also bake and cook a lot! That one is really fun because it distracts me for awhile, plus there's something delicious to eat afterwards!

Try to focus on your ultimate goal.... Your wedding, things you will do together and the life you will share!

One day you will look back on all this and just say"WHEW, WE DID IT"

Hang in there.....You'll be fine!

I am very sorry for your situation. I haven't had to wait but a third of what you've had to go through and I hate it! I've been trying to not focus as much on the approval date as the post approval activities. Right now I'm in the midst of planning the multitude of wedding events. It's stressful in its own right, but I haven't been focusing on timelines as much. That's probably pretty weak advice, given your situation, but it's the best I can come up with.

Take a look at my timeline...no walk in the park either <_<

Here is how I coped...and am still coping today:

(1) I cry and let it all out.

(2) I DID NOT CHECK THE USCIS WEBSITE. When we were waiting for our approval my fiance (the sensible one in the relationship :P ) told me that I could only check the website once a week. Let me tell you, sometimes I would go 3 weeks without checking it because I was not obssessed.

(3) I stayed away from the K1 forum. I would spend most of my time in regional forums or off topic. I would pop in and congratulate people who filed in the same month as I did, but that was it. I didn't go reading every "Approved" post because I knew I would get depressed. When we got the approval e-mail I was shocked.

(4) I stopped looking at the timelines.

(5) I found something to do to take my mind off the process. I started reading more, going out for drives...anything to get me away from the computer. I started taking detours home from work so that by the time I got home it was dinner and then bed...no time to check on an approval.

I hope this helps (F)

This is the very reason I always suggest not checking the site every day. All that will do is drive you crazy.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

This is great advice. The more you dwell on the process, the more you suffer. Dwell on the future, and not on the present. It's hard, but it will make you feel better in the long run.
