On April 2nd we got email from embassy saying visa should be received 10 working days from April 2....Then DOS tells us it was issued on April 7th so we are thinking few days for signature and CO to get the envelope ready for airport and he should receive it. Then my Senator office calls and says visa was issued on 7th and her email said we should receive it within 10 working days from 7th. That is too late. It will be the 21st and our wedding is 26th. If was 15th 10 days from April 2 would be okay but the 21st is just too late. I will have to change all again. I am sooooooooooooooo frustrated.

Sorry for the delay. I know it is driving you crazy. But I have been a member here a couple of years and what I have seen time and time again, couples plans having to be changed due to delays. Best bet is to never make definite plans until that visa is firmly planted in hand.

sorry time and time again its stress dont make plans until visa IS IN HAND we know we can never believe their words on time issues hopefully all can be adjusted and plan further out if u must just to be sure

Yes I was holding off......but once Dos confirmed it was issued and the embassy confirmed it to and said 10 days I thought it was safe. I should have known better. Anyway, I am praying they stick with the first email they sent and we will receive it by the 15th.....if not I will have to change the wedding date again. At least I was smart enough to ask if it was changeable before I paid....and it is without me losing any money. However, I have to take whatever date is available at the time of reschedule. But I still had to vent my frustration. They should only say what they know for a fact.....Not give people false hope. I mean get real.....they told Ahmed at the Interview it would be 2 to 3 weeks and he should get his visa.....it was 8 weeks before the security check was completed. This is now our 9th week. If they do not know they should say they do not know. Anyway, sorry for complaining....at least we are not in AP and there seems to be an end to this part of our journey coming soon. Hang in there...ours took 8 days from issuance till we recieved it. That makes it around the start of this coming week for you...I think you will be fine, in shaa Allah. Keep the faith girl...it will come together for you. Im sorry for your delays, but looks like he will be home to you soon and thats more important than the date. We look forward to a wedding obviously...but once he's here, you will just be happy he is here. Good luck....

Thanks everyone. Specail thanks to Tammy and Faith for all your encouraging words. I have just gotten busy with wedding plans to keep my mind off it. I made sure I can cahnge the dates if needed beofre I paid....all problem is it may be booked for long time and cannot get date we want. But i that happens we will marry in courthouse and have the ceremony for family and friends later.

I was trying to have such a simple wedding but once my sister got involved it has become alot fancier than I had invisioned. I am rather crafty and have made everything myself. From the Arch we are marrying under to the flowers (centerpieces for the tables and all wedding party flowers). Everything is turning out so nicely.

I am praying it comes earlier than planned.......bu you never know with Cairo. Anyway, thanks again.

Also to my dear friend Laura who calls every so often to check up on us......I really appreciate you girl. Tell Ashraf "HI" for us.
