The Martin Rink from Alberta is a perfect 7-0 so far. I do believe they went undefeated in provincial play downs, the brier, and 7-0 so far, pretty remarkable feat. Too bad we cant watch it here in the usa!! I thought I was going to get luck and be able to watch it online here: http://web.wcsn.com/schedule/index.jsp?s=3...e=curling_sched but it states there are blackouts!! BUT I do believe u can watch the final, for like $5!! At least that was the option for the homemakers--oops I mean womens world championship, lol

The championship is being played in Grand Forks, ND,and they dont seem to be drawing many fans! Building holds like 11,000, but only getting around 2000!! And most of them are Cdns that have drove down. oh well!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Martin choked big time last night in the 1 vs 2 page format playoff game against Scotland!!! he had a 6-2 lead at one time! Gave up a few steals and I believe he was heavy on his last shot to win the game, giving Scotland another stral of one to win! H e plays today against Norway, so he was 1 last chance!!

http://www.curltv.com/ Once can subscribe to that site and watch the games! BUT, thery didnt show any of the brier, Scotties or worlds!! So I guess they juts show the smaller bonspiels.

Another option is Slingbox! Set it up at a Canadian residence, thery must have high speed internet connection, then u can watch from anywhere in the world! If you operate it off their tuner, ur forced to watch whatever they are watching, but buy a second one, and ur in total control, well sort off, they have the box, so they stil control you, lol. i was thinking of purchasing a slingbox and leave it at my parents, but I'm too busy right now! Maybe once I finish school.

They are not really that expensive. I think the top of the line one is $300. Considering a years membership on curl tv is around $60, and curltv didnt show any of the scotties, brier or worlds!! Once I have completed school next yr and more time to slack, i think i will be going the Slingbox route!!
