Wow, this Forum is truly truly great.:dance:

For many months since my fiance and I decided to go for it,

I have looked hi and lo everywhere for tiny cournels of information about anything that has to do

with the process of fiance visa. Ive collected so many tiny bits of information, but none compare

to this forum. I learned more in this forum in 1 hour than I did anywhere else in months. Thanks everyone.

I do have a question, it is about clarifying what exactly is the NOA2? I thought i was still waiting for the NOA2, but after filling out my timeline, i realize i may already have it?

Ive recieved three letters in total, during this process.

1. reciept notice for the $170.00, by the department of homeland security.

2. An actual NOTICE OF APPROVAL by the department of homeland security.

3. A letter stating that the State Departments National Visa Center recently recieved

an approved 129F petition. This letter includes a CASE NUMBER, and the address where the interview will

be held in Buenos Aires. Also at the bottom of the letter it mentions that my fiance will soon recieve a packet with further instructions. Are they talking about Packet 3?

I really appreciate all of the help that this forum has provided to me and to others im sure. Hopefully everyone that is going through this difficult process will soon find this forum. I will investigate further soon any other informatoin that I can provide about my case, in order to help others.

Thanks very much

Yea, the NOA 2 is the approval NOA or the I-797 NOA. The beneficiary will have some forms from the embassy to fill out and a medical and interview to do. You might try looking at the embassy webpage in the beneficiary's country for more information. Also, read the K-1 guide here on VJ. Good luck

You are through all the USCIS and NVC hurdles, waiting for an actual interview now! Now it's a question of getting your Packet 3, sending that in, and getting the Packet 4, with the appointment letter for the interview.

Good luck, and welcome to VJ!

Maria&Robert,

The Approval Notice is commonly referred to as NOA #2 because it is typically the 2nd NOA that one will receive for a petition or application. Although it can be the 3rd, 4th, 5th, or higher NOA in some cases.

Wow!!!!!!!

Thanks everyone for the responses. Im sorry I havent been able to post much yet. I did fill out my timline but for some reason i do not see it appear on my post.

Im reaaaaaaallllllllly hoping for the best for myself and for everyone of us going through this process. But, I feel that if I have a problem or if any of us have a problem it can be solved thanks to the fact that at this forum we are all helping each other and going through the process together. Its great.

Man, today I found the actual website directly to the United States embassy in Buenos Aires where my fiance and I are having the interview.

Here is the website:

http://buenosaires.usembassy.gov/

There are 2 things that I have found on this website that have blown me away.

1. THE PETITIONER IS NOT REQUIRED TO ATTEND

end of the first paragraph of the 4th step

http://buenosaires.usembassy.gov/family_ba...immigrants.html

I find this very surprising to see this written on the webpage because for many months now I have been certain that the petitioner must attend also, and that 9 out of 10 cases in where the petitioner is not present, get denied. Maybe for each country this fact fluctuates.

2. Immigrant visas cannot be issued until the applicant's priority date is reached

within the important notice of the second step

This is very interesting. So even if you are approved and they are technically finished looking over your paperwork, even THEY have no choice but to wait until your priority date has been reached. Which makes sense of course.

Ive looked over my notice of approvals and the area where the priority date should be filled in is empty. Has anyone else had this issue?

Maria&Robert,

A Priority Date is immediately available for the spouses and children of US citizens. Parents also, I think. Not an issue.

congratulations

"Immigrant visas cannot be issued until the applicant's priority date is reached", you dont have to worry about that since K1 is a priority.

& as for you attending the interview, its not an obligation, but some petitioners still like to be there.

good luck
