I took Luz and Robin for a drive around town to let them see their new home. Then we went to Joe's Crab Shack for dinner. The next weekend we drove down to my parents house so they could meet.

My husband flew to Toronto and we crossed the border together. We drove from Ontario to Florida because I wanted to bring my car with me. (The rest of my belongings came with the movers.) He hadn't long been transferred to FL so no big parties but he wanted to make it kind of special for me so he planned some stops along the way. We went to Gatlinburg, TN (quaint, but absolute hell to get into and out of..... thank God I never have to do that again..... makes for good dinner conversation, though), and we stopped at his sister's in Atlanta. Other than my sadness and traumatization from being wrenched from my home and family, it was a pleasant trip. :hehe:

My friends organized a BBQ at our place about a week after his arrival. We were cleaning up the morning of and he wanted to wash the windows, I thought this is awesome. He enjoyed meeting my friends and had a good time. I was told I looked SO happy - which I am.

Meeting of parents and family still to come, since they do not live nearby.

We drove down from Toronto to Virginia on Black Friday, so took a little longer than expected due to the volume of people crossing at the Peach Bridge. Drove straight through and got in at about 3:30am, both fell into immediately asleep and got up at 8am as a friend of my hubby's came to help unload the U-Haul. I think we might have gone out to dinner that night, can't remember now :crying:

Oh yeah and then I had to dive into cleaning, hubby had been working 2 jobs for years and his son and sons girlfriend and their dog lived here, so lots to do. Lets see the first thing was throw out the microwave cause I will not use it, it was funny, not sure they all saw the humour but my husband did and that was all that mattered.

First order of business. Fix him a good meal (airline food sucks), and then let him sleep. That flight is horrible.

My husband is shy, so to have my entire family right away would have freaked him out. I first invited his niece (she lives here) and her husband and father over. We didn't tell them that he got the visa, so it was a fun surprise.

I then took him to meet my dad. After that I did have all of my children for dinner (that was the big one for him). Then gradually my brothers and sister. Gradually worked from there on the rest of the family.

Travel day is always so brutal. We came in on a Thursday afternoon. We took the long way home so he could eye the city and then we just went home and chilled. Friday I had to work. Saturday we went to 6 flags.....his first time on roller coasters. Sunday we went to the Zoo. No party till our wedding day.

I love the St. Louis Zoo.... Good choice! That is on the list of places I want to take Ruchie and Mathew to. Hopefully this summer.

We relaxed that weekend and had a bbq the following weekend. They got to meet some of my friends.

No party, just me and my David and a quick stop at Burger King. It was a long day for me so by the time I was here with him, I was like a zombie. The first couple of weeks was spent meeting friends and families so it's like a welcome party.

hubby took me to In & Out..

My husband arrived late at night... but I took my husband to In & Out the very next day!

He was instantly in LOVE! :innocent: I think in the 8 months or so he's been here we've been there 20 times or more because he asks for it!

No parties we organized ourselves.

My husband took a vacation from work for a week, we stayed in our place and on the 5th day we thought we could use some grocery shopping. :P

ETA: His company and dept. threw us a surprise party, a welcoming party for me and bridal shower sort-of a month later. This was after they learned I got here. We were trying to keep mum about it but it still leaked out.

Okay, I give. What's an in and out?

Okay, never mind. I googled it. lol

Its realllllllly popular. No matter what time of day or night (they're open pretty late) they have a line around the block for their hamburgers. Man if it were only a franchise I'd be all over that!!!

My husband went bananas for them!

Joe flew to San Francisco to meet me in the airport with his brother and 2 dozen of red roses. I arrived at 9pm so we went straight to his brother's apartment since I already had dinner in the plane before we landed. The following day, Tommy with his friends brought us to the Monterey Aqurium and had a dinner party at his apartment. The 4th day after my arrival we flew to Florida where Joe's other siblings met us in Tampa Int Airport. Dinner, dinner, dinner. It was fun.
