I had interview on April 2008. I submitted all the documents ( UAE Embassy ) I-130,g325,Ds230, I-864, medical examination. I paid more than 2,000 US$ for My son and I.

We did finger printed. And the embassy gave us a blue sheet. It says:

This office regrets to inform you that it is unable to issue a visa to you because you have been found ineligible to receive a visa under the following section(s) of the Immigration and Nationality Act. The information contained in the paragraphs marked with X pertain to your visa application.

They marked : Section 221(g) which prohibits the issuance of a visa to anyone whose application does not comply with the provisions of the immigration and nationality Act or regulations issued persuant thereto. The following remarks apply in your case:

Administrative processing. Case no XXXXXXX

What does it mean? It means my case is approved? Will I get Visa?

Sorry for my silly question.

Thanks

Administrative Processing comes after a SUCCESSFUL INTERVIEW.

Adminstrative Processing is security checks. The Embassy sends your paperwork back to United States for the Department of State to carry out security checks. They have the CIA, FBI and other government agencies check to see if you are a terrorist or criminal. They check your name and fingerprints against all the computer records they have.

It is good news in that your case is not denied.

It is bad news because the wait is long and the Department of State does not give you a time frame when they finish checking.

My estimate of the wait time:

1 to 3 months (LUCKY)

3 to 6 months (AVERAGE)

6 to 12 months (UNLUCKY)

You can call the Department of State to ask the status of your applications. Here is the number:

(212) 663-1225 - Press 1 and then press 0 to speak to a representative. Give them your case number.

Best of Luck

NUTTY - Iranian husband processed for immigrant visa UAE - in administrative processing also - waiting for visa

Thanks alot.

How have you been waiting for your husband visa?

14 months. We filed our case in USA on December 28, 2006. In standard processing. The interview date was December 11, 2007. Then in Administrative Processing. We waited until now. My husband must now go back to Abu Dhabi.

So if the time of your case is only a few months, consider yourself LUCKY!

Are you male or female? Historically females have a short wait period after the interview.
