:crying: made me cry!

I don't wear a hijab, but I always think about it what if I do, would I be treted like that... So Sad, I feel like this country is going backwards sometimes.

SOMETIMES ??? i shd say always ......................we are making the world laugh on us ................. Believe me I have travelled all over the world and i have seen people mock of USA. They say that USA has nothing of its own ........... whatever they are today is due to Brain Drain and they have purchased all super brains from all around the world to make their country great.BUt as usual with the good brains came some ill brains too........... if we look back are any of us americans apart from american Indians...some of us came from australia, UK, ireland, sweden, india. So none of us can call ourselves to be true americans. So the shopkeepers view " its doesnt make you american even if you are born here " is totally baseless. Plus there are baseless laws that he got advantage from .The law that a shopkeeper reserves the right to serve it customers . NBo where its written based on what ?? I am no lawyer but what my comon sense tells its based on improper clothes ....( like no clothes on) , improper behaviour ( like damaging, hurting etc ) someone can refuse service to customer. WHAT A FOOL !!! He said she may have bombs underneath her clothes .......so does he expect to get nude there to show that she doesnt have bomb ??? AND he says she looks like terrorists ............ our govt shd immediately start a Human rights cell to deal with sick americans like that !!:angry:

I just converted last year, lost my job caues I cover my hair, lost my father many injustices.... the interesting thing is I served my country for 11 yrs (Army Reserve and yes called up often)....most of the hateful things people say are from people who don't even have the N*ds to serve but I am the unpatriotic one? Go figure.

being a muslim is not just about religion it is a way of living life......many non muslims have stated to us to our face if u dont like the treatment then dress normal and practice ur religion in ur home or u church or what ever it is that u go to u muslims bring this type of treatment on urselfs by dressing different and u do it for attention

wow how do u like that and there is no answer when people tell u things like that u just smile and keep going the treatment that people give u at times they feel like they are being helpful to u as in the person that told me what i wrote above and had no clue that they had just insulted me...........

One question: where does it say in the Koran that women are obliged to wear a hijab?

Doesn't it say that women should dress modestly as not to bring unwanted attention to themselves?

I remember when 9/11 happened, my parents called me up and told me to take off my hijab. I said no. They said they did not want anything to happen to me. I said no. I knew that I could take the name calling and stares but they were worried about my safety. Out of the blue, a friend of mine told me he was going to be my chaperone. That first night of 9/11 he came and sat with me in my dorm room and checked on me throughout the night. He escorted me to class because, like he said "you have no choice. I don't need some idiot doing something to you that might send me to jail". He was one of many of my friends who just looked out after me. All white males from the middle of nowhere Kansas. I am probably the first and only Muslim woman they knew, and they were there to protect me.

Its so sad that there are people out there who would treat another human being in such a despicable manner. We are all people, it does not matter your race, religion, etc.

Your story made me tear up. awwwww

People should know that this is also how some ppl treat muslims in america. As usual there is good and bad everywhere.

Im happy you had friends who cared so much about you!

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Muslims aren't even treated all that well on this board.

Try being a Christian in a Muslim counry and see how well you are treated.....if they dont kill ya.

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.
