Biographical Info Mixup; Embassy Interview is Thursday!

I am the USC, and my British fiancee is headed to London tomorrow afternoon for her interview Thursday morning.

She tells me today that I apparently put the wrong city down when I put down "City, Country Of Birth".

I was born in Portsmouth, Virginia...but I put down my current residence of Norfolk, Virginia, for where I was born.

How much of a problem will this be for her at the interview Thursday? She's got a certified copy of my birth certificate which says Portsmouth, so she thought she could cross it out in pen and correct it, and say it was a mistake since it was.

Would that be sufficient? Does it even matter at this stage? It seems, to me, like this would be a bigger problem when it comes to AOS, but again, we don't want to take any chances.

At this point there's next to no chance, even with paying out the wazoo on shipping, that I could get her those sheets by Thursday morning. She doesn't have fax capabilities so I can't do that.

Advice is needed ASAP, please.

Thank you.

Hi, i'm sorry I don't have any advice for you but I don't think i'd worry too much about it at this stage.

If it's still a concern, you could sign up for a version of eFax (or something like it) and the fax would be sent right to her email where she could print it or send it somewhere she could have it printed. ;)

anyway, best of luck!!! do let us know how it goes!

The only thing the consulate is worried about from the USC at this stage is the proof of financial ability.... Otherwise they could care less ..... The issue would have been a USCIS issue but that has long been resolved....

YMMV

Well, I believe for the Bio forms to USCIS I put my actual city of birth, I guess I just missed it this time.

Thing is, I have always actually LIVED in Norfolk, I was just born in a Portsmouth hospital.

So the fact that I put one thing on one and one on the other won't matter?

Since Portsmouth is a 'burb of Norfolk... I think you are WAY over thinking this....

If they ask you fiancee where you were born then the answer should simply be Virginia... or the Norfolk Virginia area...

Well Portsmouth and Norfolk are actually independent cities, but they do in fact neighbor each other...

I do get the idea though that this is a really minor, if not a nonissue
