as for 'the omen', i saw the original and read the book, but i think i will skip the remake. getting tired of creepy movies...

I read an realy review of the remake. Apparently its an almost shot for shot remake, they're even using the original screenplay, with some adaptations of course.

Heard it is ok, but doesn't really add anything new.

Plus, Mia Farrow is a good actress, but I don't think she can play an evil governess like Billie Whitelaw. That scene where she throws Damiens mum out the window creeps me out every time.

The remake is really rather ######. Actually it's completely and irredeemably awful.

What a waste of money.

It's a carbon copy of the original, even down to the dialogue. Its like to make up for it they have to add pointless little cosmetic touches here to try to make it

So when in the original, when Patrick Troughton gets speared by a falling church steeple, in this you have Pete Postlethwaite getting skewered and having big shards of stained glass stick in his face. In a way its a bit like watching those retouched Star Wars movies - Greedo shoots first always stands out no matter how good of a job ILM do with it.

The kid isn't scary either - in the words of one reviewer he just looks like a 6 year old who's parents have told him to switch off the Playstation.
