OK, for those of u who have babies, will have babies, want a baby, know someone who has, will have, or wants a baby... would u buy clothes with Islamic emblems on them for ur babies? hats, onesies, sleepers socks... It doesn't have to be just Islamic.. Whatever religion you are, would u buy clothes for ur child that had religious emblems on them?

We're brainstorming something and I REALLY need my MENA imput!

Pm me for questions!!!

i wouldn't as people would focus on the emblem instead of the child.

I wouldn't, but I'm kind of iconoclastic. I think if this was a baby from Muslim parents I would be careful to put anything wil "Allah" on it as there are quite a few people who don't feel it's appropriate to take that name into the bathroom (which can be where they would get changed if they are in public), etc... and possibly would not look favorably with it being vomited on :) But that would just depends on the parents and the outfit!! If it was like the crescent moon or whatever I don't know that people would think anything about that, so it could be fine! So I think it would come down to what I thought the parents would think :)

ok, what about ...

"i love my egyptian" or something like that?

I agree that it wouldn't be good to put Allah or certain islamic symbols due to the factor of getting dirty...

I think that would be OK :)

And as far as the other stuff I think it just depends on the outfit, you know? Like i'm picturing if you had a little boy with a blazer or a girl or boy with a sweater and it was something that slipped over and was open in the front (so subject to less direct vomiting or rocket diaper) and could be removed... and the baby was small and blobby and not doing much... then it would be fine. But yeah, kind of hard to say. i just wasn't sure what you were thinking about :)

Absolutely not, but thats just me. Im not a fan of advertising religions.

Cute country pride shirts.. like someone else said? sure!

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Honestly, no, I would not. I don't care for the idea of wearing a name tag of sorts regarding religion or ethnicity.

Now if we're talking about mini galabiyas or something like that, that's cute. My sons have tiny galabiyas/thobes from they were babies and they're just adorable.

I agree with this idea in my opinion.

I also agree with Moody. I don't really see the point in advertising their religion. Cultural items that are not religious are ok IMO. I think the furthest I would go with religious stuff is a small piece of gold that is pinned to their clothing for the first 40 days which is a tradition for us but usually placed where no one can see it.

VJ Hours - I am available M-F from 10am - 5pm PST. I will occasionaly put in some OT for a fairly good poo slinging thread or a donut.
